The days of an average player putting in the time and the bounties to get to max light are over.
Who complained Bungie, the try hards, streamers and basement dwellers?
Maybe you’re a million player sales down compared to previous release figures because nobody but the aforementioned try hards (what are they, 3% to 5% of your player base) asked for more difficult base content and more jumping about like a demented flea.
This is up there with who on Earth asked for Marathon, we were asking for D3?
New Release coming out and you still haven’t fixed bugs introduced in previous releases?
Bungie, you’ve done all of this to yourselves and Sony Stockholders are watching……

Just find a new game, this one is dead & made so streamers make some money off of it

This is going to be a 💩show. Now as many people, who consistently defend Bungie and D2’s current trajectory, will tell you these numbers aren’t accurate, because of x, y and z. They are the only numbers we have for comparison. However they will be the most accurate they can be at 5:01pm UTC on Tuesday 15th July. External Sights Emblem for preordering EoF. 394629 https://emblem.report/3992231371 Paracausal Path Emblem for preordering TFS. https://emblem.report/54004492 1690278 So Edge of Fate has less than a quarter of the preorders that TFS had, and TFS was considered a failure. 394629/ 1690278 = 0.233 x 100 = 23.3%. Just so that’s -blam!--ing clear. 5 days out from the launch of their new 6 year saga, Bungie has managed to convince less than a quarter of those it convinced into preordering TFS, to preorder EoF. I wonder why that is?🤔🙃 I have a list. World Tiers Soft sunsetting of my weapons Seasonal sunsetting Bonus damage/resistance on new gear Exotics being left behind it the new tier system Exotics being left behind in terms of whether they get the new seasonal bonus or not. Increased grind for grind sakes, it’s been calculated at 90+ hours of targeted grind just to get Tier 5 gear to drop The Portal being too convoluted and text heavy for the sake of apparent versatility. Just make preset difficulties that we can swap out some modifiers. Or better yet, get rid of haste, oscillation and the other modifier that creates exploding ammo and engram drops and just add more Banes/ Champs to preset difficulties. The resetting to 10 Light Level, essentially locking us out from all the endgame content we have already purchased, forcing us to engage with this new system even if we don’t buy the “DLC”. In my opinion this is the Diablo4-ification of the game. And I despise it. Destiny is not a true MMO, so why is Tyson Green and the rest of the management so enamoured in turning it into one?

Everytime I see the “we want D3” pop up it’s hilarious. Cause really, what would D3 fix if it’s still the same leadership and people who made Destiny 2 going to make the same mistakes for D3?
-
I don’t understand how this game is 11 years old and we still are using half -blam!- fireteam finder??? How hard is it to add matchmaking to Destiny? I thought this company was Bungie? Part of the reason I’m excited for Destiny Rising is the game automatically puts in lobbies. Wow matchmaking in multiplayer games? WHAT A CONCEPT

Those elitist streamers are the only players Bungie listens to anymore. They complain about the game being too easy. If you eat, drink, breathe and sleep Destiny like them, OF COURSE ITS TOO EASY.
-
Datto most likely. It`s a-holes like him that have ruined this once good game.
-
I mean....where have you been? That's been the problem for years, the only difference is the main elitists they ignore are the ones who main PvP. Otherwise it's pretty much always been this way.

Edited by Mark, Scholar of Stars: 7/10/2025 11:02:34 AMI see what's coming in a few days as pretty mixed. It's definitely a risky pitch to acquire a new target audience of players. Normally, one does that with a completely new video game. But with Marathon on hold and no other resources left, Bungie tries this stunt with its only game left in existence, Destiny 2. From my perspective, it's a pure act of despair. Throwing one existing audience out of the window in hope of acquiring a new one. Most likely, because of the initiative of presenting Sony good numbers. One has to read the following article to see how "strange" it is at Bungie. "Toxic And Shut Down Creatives At A Core Level": Former Bungie Employees Aren't Happy With The Studio's Leadership I think all of that is pretty sad. And I don't see me playing "Edge of Fate" next week. I have every other DLC, starting with year one of Destiny 2, and there are still some tasks I have left. But I will not invest in the new progression system with its expiration. Massive Entertainment tried pretty much the same with The Division 2 last year. But they had such a high level of complaint that they never executed this idea. A few days ago, I reinstalled it, and to my surprise, other inadequacies, in the form of restrictions, were also gone. Respect! With "Edge of Fate," or as an additional feature added recently in Destiny 2, you will find a lot of mechanics already existing in The Division and 2 right from the start or for years. Like armor bonuses, loadouts, modifiers, targeted loot, world tiers, and even more. For those who are looking forward to the new DLC, more power to you! Edit: Text correction

Who complained Bungie, the try hards, streamers and basement dwellers? This right here makes me laugh 😂 not because I agree but because it’s the dumbest take ever, especially with the changes coming in. Bungie is literally tailoring activities to each skill level. If you’re a casual tier 1-2, average teir 2-3, above average teir 4-5 and if you’re cracked out you’ll teir 5 loot. You want better loot get better , do better.

What specifically are you even talking about

They’re giving more range in difficulty options to players. Really funny that adding a hard mode gets you upset when it’s just an option and you’re not obligated to go above the base difficulty.

I consider my self an average guy. I have a full time job, a wife, hobbies such as golf, motorcycling, D&D, reading etc. I take weekend in the summer and go away etc. I have a house and family as well. I also play Destiny and have since it came out all those years ago. And I always hit max power. Put in the effort into things you want, stop -blam!- that other can but you can't, thats a choice YOU made. Nobody else did that for you. ITs not elitism for people to succeed. The game was better in D1 when you had to play content, like raids and nightfalls to get max gear and to progress meaningfully.. playing the entire breadth of the game, succeeding wasn't about obtaining as many bounties as you could and farming easy content. As an average player who puts time into the game.. i'm actually really ok with having to grind content, harder content to progress adn hit max power again. Edit: lol so many butthurt at the truth. keep those downvotes coming. -
The days of an average player putting in the time and the bounties to get to max light are over.
Bounties have always awarded XP. Light level is and was increased to max level with gear not bounties. When the artifact was introduced bounties helped to get bonus light levels but never the max level which has always been done with gear. Bonus levels awarded from artifact didn't have a limit.

Do you honestly belive a D3 would have been something great after how bungie have managed D2 and now marathon. Until the leadership has fully changed a potential D3 wouldn't be very good at all.
-
I'm not good at this video game. In fact I'm pretty bad at it all things considered, but I still manage to hit max level, or something resembling it. I'm also gainfully employed full time. You don't need to be a "basement dweller" or whatever term you people decide to use, you just have to use your time carefully and be at least passingly aware of what to do and you'll fall into max level naturally. The idea that Destiny is too hard, or that it's being crafted specifically with streamers in mind has always been silly, because if you can walk and chew bubblegum at the same time, you're good to do anything in this game.

Sony's excited because they just got undeniable proof of the potency of this IP despite all the hyperbolic negative sentiment. Towards serving a base that CAN be more casual. 9 million. What you don't know is Bungie is doing that too... because they ARE Sony! Have been. This is a Sony game and a Sony Studio... and has been for 2 years now. Part of Sony's condition was restructuring that investment deal with Tencent. That was smart. Working for them now. EoF begins with an overhaul of the early & midgame. In the content. It's systems and mechanics. The soft reset. The UI. Facts. 😇👍💠

Explain the entitlement behind elitism when your game is -blam!-. I’ll wait.
-
Best way to combat is don't participate or play the content they're prioritizing for views. Meaning, don't support the folks it's designed for, don't watch .
-
Destiny content creators are a mistake but bungo are too busy sucking them off 24/7
-
Yet you clowns still throw money at Bumgie. You all are happy with Bungo giving you less while you pay more🤣🤣. You all deserve everything thats coming to you
-
bungie thinks there raids and mechanics in game are what keeps players . the player base says otherwise. bungie could stand to layoff even more in those departments and lean into the core players and maybe turn things around. but with the major changes coming and stubborness of the leads, living in delusion of grander, things have only one path to go poor sales and the doors shutting.

Work on your life instead of a game... Idk 🤷🏼

When you try to herd whales you get crushed

Isn’t the base content more or less the same difficulty, but now they’ve added more options This is basically what Diablo does, a normal base game and then tiers of difficulty
