Last year's Pantheon seemed like an awesome activity to both challenge yourself with and have fun spanking raid bosses without having to do to complete raid mechanics. I say "seemed" because I was sadly unable to find a team to participate and pretty much had to watch the whole thing from the sidelines in real time. From what I saw. however, it is sufficed to say that those who got their Godslayer seal put in a great deal of effort and earned that thing.
Then RotN came around and I took my first look at the ETERNAL seal, seeing the gold ultimatum triumph and having some proper gamers to play with, I thought to myself "Okay, this will be the Godslayer I never got the chance to earn". So I BUSTED my butt getting that gold score on all 3 dungeons in Ultimatum. This thing was a proper challenge.
Then yesterday's reset rolls around and we get to see what the final Gauntlet challenge entails, and I'm stunned! 3 clears on eternity in 24 hours? That's it? You do that and you get to completely circumvent ultimatum in order to earn the seal? This, combined with the fact that this final triumph gave you a SINGLE nonary manifold as a reward, was completely and utterly demoralizing.
So what did doing gold ultimatum actually give me? Simply the privilege of earning this seal one week earlier, that's it. With Edge of Fate around the corner and Bungie's philosophy of "harder difficulties will give you access to higher tier gear", this Rite of the Nine event makes even less sense as it is approaching its end. Can we at least get a gilded seal for having completed ALL associated triumphs? Can we get SOMETHING for the time and sweat we poured into this?
EDIT: As the first three commenters astutely pointed out, due to misremembering I didn't account for the fact that each gold ultimatum dungeon clear was associated with its own triumph, meaning you have to do at least 2 of them. Still blows to know one dungeon could have been skipped, but much less dramatic than I originally made it seem.

It’s one less dungeon on ult- is it that big of a deal? You still completed 2 other dungeons on ult. Achievements are for yourself- so if that was a challenge to you; you should be proud of your in game accomplishments. If you’re only grinding titles for a “flex” you’re doing them for the wrong reason.
