After 11 years, this is the first expansion I'm truly disappointed I purchased.
Yes, the others had warts, but they were also Destiny. This is a wart with Destiny mixed in.
At the core it's always been about gunplay and loot. And despite some platforming moments in the past, we've never been forced to platform.
Matter ball is horrible and has an unfinished feeling about it.
Keplar is a miscarriage of stolen assets from the past. I just want to do a nightfall and I can't until I roll around some corridors stolen from Titan in a ball.
Really Bungie?
Did this ever feel right?
I'm still going to login and look at My characters, because it's what I do. But I'm not finishing the campaign.
Thoroughly disappointed.
I want to provide a solution but have none.

I came to race Give me SRL

Ohhh nooooo, mechanics that require you to do something other than stand in one spot and hold the trigger. Waaaaaahhhh what're you gonna do nooooooow
-
God please don’t ever make a driving game Bungie!
I'm still going to login and look at My characters, because it's what I do. But I'm not finishing the campaign.
Then why have you done 3 more of them since you posted this? Lol

I’ve hated jumping puzzles with every fibre of my existence through the entirety of D2. Every exotic mission, dungeon etc involves loads of stupid jumping puzzles. Now we have the “ball”. If I wanted to play Tomb Raider I’d play Tomb Raider.
-
“We have never been forced to platform” If need be I can come up with a LOT of times you were forced to platform
-
Apparently you came here to spam abilities because the shooting part has been -blam!- for years now.
-
Sure it was designed by someone with a bead kink, squeezing balls into tight holes
-
There’s nothing good or interesting in the new destination, gave up with that and did some other stuff
-
I know the solution…. And it’s not pretty…. Bungie goes to the salt mines to make PlayStation Multiplayer features. And Destiny goes to a different Studio that will listen…..

Ball is awful and made me motion sick.but the main issue is crashing.Took 12 hrs to install.Only got 2 hours of gameplay.75 crashes when re- launching D2. Today did a 13hr reinstall & still broken.Refund requested.

Unfortunately, the only solution is to stop giving them your money and take a break from the game for a while. Many of us did that D2Y1 and, lo and behold, they actually fixed their game and produced some good content after that. This year I stopped played after the first batch of seasonal content was atrocious. I haven't played since then and was waiting for this next major expansion to make my decisions. I did not pre-order and nothing from any of their hype rally live streams gave me any confidence this expansion would be any good. Literally everything that they've done to this game to try and improve it sounded awful to me and it appears I was correct. I hopped on to play the first mission to see what it was like and I was disgusted. Anyway, it seems 2/3 of the normal playerbase is already on boat with refusing to play this garbage, based on the posted player numbers. Vote with your wallets people. Walk away from the game. That's your best chance of having them improve things.

I've said it multiple times before and I will keep saying it: if they were going to completely change the mechanics (as they have) then EoF should have been released as a separate app/game (preferably on current gen) rather than overwriting the existing D2.

D3 is the solution

I’m honestly in between sides here. Yes matter spark is kinda frustrating to use because your so small and can fall right off the map. But Bungie did say that this expansion was going to be more puzzle based. I would rather have matter spark instead of “protecting ghost” or clearing ads. Obviously you do still “shoot” in this expansion, it is just more puzzle and tactile based then fps.

While I don't like matter ball saying "We've never been forced to platform" is false. Half of Forsaken, Witch Queen, Lightfall, and Final Shape were spent doing a bunch of jumping platform to platform. Every raid and dungeon has an encounter where half of it is platforming and a bunch of inbetween encounter sections where it's all platforming.
