STOP THE POWER DELTA IN NORMAL CONTENT!!!!

Title says it all, this includes Raids and dungeons.

  • My clan teach Raids, Trio' Raids, and Dungeons. We teach anyone from LITERAL first timers (never touched or cleared the raid) trio's too. Following the whole light changes, we have come to the agreement of, we are no longer going to do the above. we cannot take new people into trio's only experienced players who have done the raid before and have multiple clears. It was really fun for us and the Sherpee. but now its stupid. Dungeons are also a pain to teach. Where I used to be able to comfortably 2/3 phase in a 2 man sherpa where nothing is optimised. it is now a 6 phase. and I cant comfortably show how to do the encounter, I have to sweat my balls of just to not die myself. it makes really bad Sherpa sessions. I don't care if to "get" the "better loot" you have to do a more difficult version. At least give us the option to pick our difficulty. Like: "Training" - Ads are put at your light/you are on par to the ads, effectively what it was before Edge of Fate. you get tier 1 loot. "Advanced" - What it is now, you get tier 2/3 loot "Master" - what master is usually. tier 4/5 loot Of course I don't think master should give tier 5 armour. cause that will be way to easy to farm, so I would settle with 4. but still. I just want the option to take people through dungeons, relaxed, so they get a full understanding, and don't have to sweat there own balls off whilst also learning. I don't even want to know how solo runs go. - Wolfie

    • One of the best feelings in a game is hitting that point where you're stronger than the content. You put in the time, and the game rewards you by letting you dominate. Bungie took that out back and shot it. Now it's a joyless treadmill. Progress doesn't feel like progress, and challenge doesn't feel like accomplishment. The goal isn't to reward you anymore, it's to wear you down just enough that the only real dopamine hits come from the cash shop. You're so starved for something to feel good, even a shader starts to look exciting. Players just wanted the game to feel rewarding again. Instead, we got another live service being quietly managed by a skeleton crew that only gets bonuses when cash shop numbers go up. The game is still making money, but it's in decline, so shareholders treat it like a liability. What used to be fun is now just a slow strip-mining operation. And we're the resource.

      • Leveling up makes sense when you can overlevel content and run it casually. Leveling doesn't make sense when you're always at a deficit. This expansion brought permanent deficits in just about all content and a much higher level threshold. Yeah nah.

          • They reset our power level and they will do it every season, but they did not make power level do anything. So it is still pointless.

          • Agreed. The game will never feel good unless you can become powerful through grinding your level up. Power level should matter or not exist at all.

          • No. Raids were a complete joke before it was introduced. It was nearly impossible to die in DSC.

            • Foreal Though -20 for raid hasn’t felt bad. Base normal should be more fun/casual with buds. Since drops are booty anyway. Add your modifiers for loot and difficulty.

              • I blamed the content creators for this because they complained and gave bungie the idea that the game was “too easy” and bungie started focusing on “players trivializing content”. Sometimes I wanna level up, specialize so far into my build craft that I one-shot a Boss! I wanna feel lore accurate sometimes. Another thing is health-gating vanguard content bosses, I get it for dungeons and raids because you want to drill in mechanics, but come on! There’s no reason why other contents should have health gates for bosses. Leveling up now feel so pointless because you’ll always feel weak.

              • Totally agree. I can't really play the game right now because it crashes so much. But I've heard they've done a nice job with optional difficulty modifiers in some activities. Why couldn't they have just made this optional, as well?

                  I'm sort of frustrated right now. We get higher light level gear so that we can go into harder content and be weaker. There's no point running lower content, because the higher our light level, the less rewarding that content is. I'm currently light level 231, and the content that offers reasonable rewards is also way, way harder than I'm competent to play, so I'm still getting lousy rewards because I can't get B/A ratings in the content anymore. I've sort of backed myself into a corner: I can't get a B/A in advanced because my light level is too high, and I can't get a B/A in Expert because my skill level is too low. The whole delta system needs to be reevaluated, I think. The point in getting better gear is to make the game easier, or at least more fun, but right now getting better gear just means (at least for me) more frustration. I should have started dismantling higher light gear at light level 210 and stuck with the low mans. Or at least that's how I'm feeling right now. It's not fun to do an Expert run, get whooped, and be rewarded with a Tier 0 piece of gear. It's not fun to do an Expert run, get an A, and get the same Tier 2 piece of gear I was getting in Advanced. Edit: Sorry for the rant, I'm just feeling frustrated right now is all. I don't like leveling up my armor and weapons just so that I can feel weaker and die more. Edit 2: Lol, the Sieve is -15, which explains why I'm dying so much. Eff this, I'm close to just checking out for the rest of the season.
