I know I’m probably going to get told to just “get good” but fr it’s way to hard for the average player. Been trying to get the secret strangelets on mythic to finish that quest off but cannot complete complete any of them even using a “meta” build you’ll die in 1 shot and and major or boss enemies takes about 3 years to kill.
I get that it’s an “endgame” thing but c’mon I’m 274 power so I’m not completely underleveled to be in there but feels like I’m just eating my crayons and nothing is working. Using all new gear with decent stats across the board as well..

I think you hit it in your first sentence. It's not for the average player, Legendary and Fabled are.

Mythic isn’t designed for “the average player” it’s designed for people who are good at the game. -
What’s the point in grinding power if we just feel weaker and weaker??
-
I think they'll tone down both the damage dealt by mobs in Mythic and up the damage players do because it looks pretty horrific.
-
What, you want difficulty to be less? The best players that have always been the mythic/legendary/grand master difficulty group wanted everything harder. Bungie gave it to them. Bungie has out right ignored the feedback that things are getting too hard by average players for years. We have been told to "git gud", L2P, "make a build", "any build will work" etc et all. Your speaking to a deaf audience, Bungie does not care.
-
Just one of the MANY changes they'll be forced to revert in the coming weeks and months.
-
Its not hard, its just boring. No heavy or special weapon or super does enough damage to even put a dent in the bosses in the mythic missions. You literally just have to plink away with some higher damage exotic primary like third iteration (even post nerf its still good for this), outbreak, lucky pants malfaesance etc for like an hour. They completely missed the mark on making these a super skill demanding thing because the combat in these missions is actually completely reasonable and could be harder, and then the bosses just have endless health
-
300 solo ops is a 100% easier than mythic missions, someone please make that make sense 😂
-
The average player doesnt need to do mythic. Just do legendary and or fabled.
-
There will be no "git good". Even streamers don't like it. Hardcore community prefers something like Salvation Edge. When difficulty comes from mechanics and smart choice of mobs and their positions. Bullet-sponges are stupid and... not so hard if you have enough passion. And mission can provide you with some safe place.
-
Yeah I’m around between 260-270- ish and getting one shotted by the shank boss in a mission and the mythic level caps say 200. Must be some kind of misdirection? Idk.
-
It wouldn’t be as bad if it had the multiplicity modifier like the other difficulties.
-
I agree. The 50 below makes the opponents way too tanky, and it becomes so slow to do solo. You need debuf, buff and burn, which means fireteam, not fond of this one.
-
It takes cheese and plenty of it.
-
5 months down the line it will all be worthless again anyways when the Force Reset everyone back to the Stone Age.
-
The problem is that mythic technically isn't hard. Everything is just a bullet sponge and kills really quickly. The question becomes do u wanna spend 45 min chipping down a single mini boss and a good hour and a half for the actual boss, this is without having to restart from dying, deaths included u could spend a good 3-4 hours on a single mission solo, or just realize bungie doesn't know the difference been difficulty and time consuming, and just play solo ops for better rewards and better time. Don't feel bad that ur not willing to spend hours on a single mission. It's a ridiculous ask from bungie to begin with.
-
I agree. I've finished almost the entire mythic quest line. I have the one secret strangelet left to get with the 2 captains and the tank that you have to kill in 4:30....and then the final mission.. Its just stupid being capped to 50 below enemies. whats the point in powering up if it doesn't even let you feel strong.
-
It's not that hard when you have a property that's not dysfunctional refused to listen and refuse to follow instructions!
-
It’s not “stupid hard” You have to learn to position yourself and use cracked loadouts.
-
Hihgly recommend grouping up...
-
Highly recommended doing it in a fireteam. I started the quest solo and man those 3 missions were painful. Had a friend doing the same join me at the Commencement boss CP and it was a world of difference. Same with the Strangelet mission. Trying to kill those 3 bosses was impossible by myself. Had a couple friends join up and while still a tuff go we got it done. This is the way

Yeah but what does bungie care. The streamers are still gonna glaze, cheaters are still gonna cheat, and Pete's still gonna pete
-
I’ve done a couple and it’s tough but no more than a GM used to. It will test your build much more than your light level though. Bungie is clearly pushing for us to leverage the over 100 stats, but I’ve played with people in the 240+ who don’t even have a stat in the 100. So it’s no wonder they don’t experience the power growth. Light level is mainly a gate to access harder activity and better gear.

Edited by Xx RogueMerc xX: 7/26/2025 6:42:14 PMSome of that quest line was a decent challenge. I certainly got killed by some dumb stuff. But for the most part it was shooting at bullet sponge bosses for way too long. Very monotonous. And I would not recommend doing it without a fireteam unless you are some God mode streamer…

I've only done the 4 missions in the questline with fireteam finder. It was mostly ok except for the Quarantine boss fight. Reminded me of the old D1 days where we hid behind boxes or sat way back with snipers and scouts. The Message will probably be awful as well.
