Mythic on Kepler is just Big huge BS

Way too hard even when you up around 225 my gawd this is gunna break me I can’t progress there’s no progression I’m just stuck unable to get through the encounter boss because of artificially inflated difficulty big thumbs down for this expansion I’m really feeling like I may just quit this one ☝️and wait and see if that fix this garbage o was happy the way Destiny 2 was !

  • I finished 1, on mythic when I tried at 225... I've sorta shelved that and the 2 legendary ones I have left for now. It felt a bit frustrating to me, mostly because of mechanics, so I put it down so to speak. I've just been grinding gear

  • If you have trouble with the cyclops bosses in quarantine I found that they cannot harm matters park at all for some reason so you can whittle their health down using matters park super and shock. Just watch out for ads

  • Your light level doesn't really matter. While in-game it says that Mythic is 200 this isn't quite correct. Basically Mythic starts at 200 but scales up based on your own light level and because you're on Mythic you're basically always at - 50 power. So if you're 225 then you're enemies are at 275.

  • I just soloed The Gouge for that quest. Question for people who were in a Fireteam: did you have to slowly plink away at the boss from a specific angle?

    • I hear that. I tried my first Mythic mission and I was getting one tapped by a boss using its basic attack. Very frustrating. I tried adjusting my resistance mods but to no avail. If you add in others guardians thinking it will help, it doesn’t. It scales with each guardian so you’ll be squishier than before.

        Mythic isn't even fun it's just oppressive. It's not hard in a challenge way that if you just adjust play style or if you do mechanics you're fine it's no matter what you're always going to do tiny amounts of damage and they're always going to have huge amounts of health and put out huge amounts of damage. -50 power delta is just not a good feeling. Especially when once you hit 200 light it doesn't matter what your light level is you're always going to be that week all tier five gears going to do for the most part is give you some faster ability cooldowns and yeah that will help but you kind of have to go through these modes to even get that gear in the first place so you're just feeding yourself into a blender repeatedly until then. At bare minimum scale it down for solo players. And stop making triple yellow health bar gravity banes. Every time I go across when they're harder than the bosses themselves constantly getting pulled out of position and not being able to use your barricades or anything while tickling them to death. I complained about matter spark at the beginning of the expansion but I think the thing I've hated most about edge of fate so far has been gravity banes. I don't really mind the strand ones but I loathe the gravity ones more than anything. And the fact that normally most banes you would come across would be red bars historically that they guarantee in these missions the yellow bars are having the strongest of all the banes all the time you do the content not even a random chance of it like it used to be You're just knowing and dreading that you're having to face it. Fabled mode feels alright mythic shouldn't be to the extent that it is harder than fabled. Mythic should at worst be roughly feeling comparable to what grandmaster nightfall content felt like in the past. Especially since Grand Masters as difficult as they were you had modifiers to make them give you ways to deal extra damage and help you if you built into it from what I have seen on doing these legendary weekly missions on mythic it's just you're at 50 under good luck bash your head off of wall You're going to hate yourself when you're done and you're going to hate this game.

      • I agree that it sucks. I'm done almost the whole questline and it's not fun at all. It's boring. Add on the fact that there are those 4 secret strangelets that you have to do (and the outer steps one is straight trash with a 4:30 timer to kill 3 spongey bosses) and there's no way to lfg that in game... Like why have an objective, let alone 4 of them, that you can't match make for in game, and that you can't solo unless you're like the top .1% (Honestly I havent seen anyone solo the mythic outer steps yet). They really need to chill with these power deltas and let people feel powerful again. Enough already. bullet sponge bosses that can one and 2 shot you are not fun. Sitting back 300 yards and plinking away at bosses is not fun.

      • I haven’t finished the campaign…totally over the orb mechanic. But I did the campaign to level up to try harder level activities…it’s so easy and I’m super average in d2 and really don’t play that much pve . Now I’m like what’s the point of going higher if it’s all easy and the reward is subpar .

      • You need a fireteam or you will struggle. Use in game fireteam finder. Sharing the destination ability puzzles also makes exploration easier and funnier. Something about seeing three lightning balls stunlocking and air juggling a minotaur always makes me laugh.

      • As Fire Team its doable, but they need to reduce the red bar health. Too much bullet sponge, primaries are basically useless except for a few broken ones. Even at 200 weapons stat.

      • It's pretty boring. Best advice I have is bring a bolt charge Titan, get an angle, and hold right trigger with Polaris Lance.

      • 225 doesn't mean anything, it still puts you -50 so if you're 10 or 550 it's the exact same experience

        • just get a team. I've been able to solo nearly everything on mythic so far with really bad builds (because I've been trying to farm new armor first) and a lot of patience, but if you can't do it, just LFG.
