Hi community, This is not a hate post although the majority of this is negative I Just want to give my feedback on the expansion. Currently sitting at 412 power so got a decent bit of insight on this DLC and just sharing my thoughts and experiences The Grind: Yeah its pretty bad going from 0-400 is doable since you have a lot of activities that drop higher light gear as well as a lot of time to get there before you get reset back to 200. Problem is your just playing the same Exotic Mission or Lost sector we have had in the game for years so its pretty boring. After 400 is where the real grind begins to increase Light the only thing you can do beside two Conquests which you can only do once a season and Zavala who drops 3 items based of Portal rank is farm portal activities over and over again people are literally farming Solo Ops hundreds of times myself included. I farmed Caldera Solo Ops 47 Times before getting a tier 5 drop to increase my light level because the drop rate is so low its just ludicrous. I don't know if Bungie is planning on implement something in the future to make farming after 400 actually bearable. Tier 5 Gear: Honestly is not worth it, I have a full set of Tier 5 on my Titan and i'd argue I feel no stronger of than I did with gear I had going into EOF. I have Had around 20 Armour drops at Tier 5 and only One of them has dropped with the Paragon Trait which is what I have on my Ghost, you make something so difficult and low drop chance to get but then you add another roll the dice feature on the stat distribution. Gear Progression: my biggest gripe with the game in general is how I've gone from light level 10-412 and I don't feel any different in strength in-game i still get fried by any content with set modifiers and light disadvantage and any content that I am above is completely useless to me now and drops nothing of value. That's not to say I want the game to be easy but Bungie needs to find the right balance Kepler: Mythic difficulty is a joke, the whole community was literally using Broken Iter so that the game felt bearable, now it just feels like I'm shooting marshmallows, its so boring sitting there shooting an enemy for 5 minutes and for him to sneeze on you and send your -blam!- to the shadow realm. Raids and Dungeons: Why is the normal difficulty putting us at a disadvantage for what's the need? The gear you get from these right now is practically useless as well except for the new raid and no you don't get light level increase from the new raid after 400 either Old Gear: I hate how artifice gear and Exotics that previously had good rolls have now just become obsolete, these are items we have literally spent years farming Imo they need to implement a system where it gets a tier system and it can be upgraded Sorry for the long rant, but I've seen lots of people share their thoughts on this DLC and just thought I'd share my experiences and thoughts please vote on the poll and share your thoughts also Peace out

  • I'm just a casual boon who mainly plays solo. I really liked the new approach in general. Even solo, with portal activities I can progress. Slowly but steadily. No more hardcore pinnacle-stuff I'll fail anyways OR drag my team down with my horrible skills. Many things they did really well or improve. I don't even mind the same-old-missions to run (at least I can somehow manage to get better), but sponge-enemies are boring as -blam!-. Reloading an auto-rifle three times for the most generic low-level-enemy while they still insta-kick me into oblivion if i'm careless for half a second...that's just boring. And all that with the most horrible thing to me ever: A DUCKING TIME-LIMIT. I hate managing barely with a few seconds left...that is not relaxing :) So overall I'm already at my skill-limit here. Progress gets horribly slow for me at 300 now, and master-difficulty with only 1-2 modifiers is already HARD. Second conquest that states it's "EASY" i only barely managed to the end, went over the time-limit at about half the map and got wiped completely at a half-down boss. With no more ammo left i could throw peas at that sucker while he threw nuclear missiles. He and his 5 gazillion friends. With shields i barely managed to get down before dying again. I know people seem to love hard challenges. But give me an option to continue here. Right now I prefer to play the old content, which gives me no relevant drops though, which is also boring. I love the game, and I'm no hater but also no fanboy. It's fine when I can't play raids or any endgame-highlevel-content, I'm a noob. But don't make me feel like a pathetic weakling as long as I'm solo :-)

  • If you removed the puzzles and had each mission connected where the next mission launches when one ends the campaign would literally be an hour long. Story for the campaign was interesting, same boring enemies is lame, give us another new enemy for f sake. Puzzles are ok, mostly just boring though and having to combo puzzle abilities together is stupid. Matterspark needs more responsive controls. Puzzles create artificial campaign length, new leveling tiers and harder content create artificial difficulty via turning everything into a bullet-sponge that can one-tap you. Metroidball doesn't feel good or normal to use and doesn't fit the world of Destiny. Powerscaling on paper looked like it might be similar to Diablo IV, the difference being that as you play harder content in Diablo and get better gear you feel stronger and can make almost-invincible builds that feel like you're a god, Destiny power-scale is not the same thing, it won't work that way because Bungie doesn't want us to feel strong. If my Diablo character saw my Guardian in the wild he would grab him and Hulk-smash the Guardian around and be all like "Hmmph, puny god!"

  • I voted yes for posterity, but I knew it was going to be bad, they were hiding too much, and ignoring people. I canceled after that live stream, it screamed turd to me.

    • Story wise it's okay, but the actual gameplay is pretty terrible. I think I owe the Lightfall campaign an apology. I don't have an issue with a mission having a couple puzzles to solve, but the entire campaign consisting of puzzles isn't fun, it's just frustrating. Especially given the fact that there are puzzles during boss fights.

You said it like “hate post” is a bad thing. We, as customers, have every right to hate the product/service (being) delivered to us (by the moronic narcissistic director Tyson Green)

          • Even with my extremely low expectations, because Bungie warned us to expect smaller scale expansions I was still dissapointed

          • Yes and No. No because the story was absolutely great and the story is also the single most important aspect of Destiny. As long as Bungie keeps cooking up great stories I'll be satisfied. Yes because the gameplay is absolutely awful. Some of the changes implemented in The Edge of Fate have been done so poorly and in such a wrong way that it completed eliminated the power fantasy. A few things to take note off. 1. What do you mean the grind to 400 is doable? It's an absolute boring struggle fest getting tier 3 loot or going beyond 200 power. I think my highest piece of loot is 220 at the moment. Any tips on what to grind as a solo player? 2. Also the reason why you don't feel stronger regardless of Light level is because Bungie has elimited power fantasy from the game completely. Difficulty settings such as Mythic always set you at - 50 power. This makes grinding power basically pointless because you can't close the gap. While Mythic starts at 200 you'll never be at a higher power compared to enemies because they scale based on your own light level. This means if you're on Mythic and you're 400 then enemies will be 450 and this is why you don't feel more powerful regardless of how high your level light gets.

            • Depends what you are looking at. The story isn’t bad, the arc ball thing is a horrible idea, the weapons are nice but nothing we don’t actually already have in past weapons for most of them, Bungies launch was the most terrible bug ridden launch they’ve ever had, I deleted my old armor to collect new armor since I am now getting used to it, buts way too many pieces and you have to get different tiers. Same with weapons. I keep some tier 1 weapons over tier 2 because the rolls are better.

Firstly, as a response to your Tier 5 statement, congratulations on achieving a full set of Tier 5 gear! Secondly, if you are not feeling any more powerful that you originally were, perhaps you should try to hunt down a specific armor set and build around that? I took a look at your Titan and while you do have Tier 5 gear, you have not spec’d into a specific armor set. This certainly would not 100% fix your issue but it might make it a little better. Bungie 100% will be adding more armor sets in the future so the build crafting will only grow from here.

              • Can it really be called a disappointment when this is exactly what I expected it to be? And if you're looking at this, Bungie (I know you aren't), that's not a good thing.

                • I voted yes... sad that Bungie won't see or care about the poll results. I didn't see it mentioned, but on the topic of artifice gear and exotics, the "new" exotics from Ada-1 can be masterworked (at crazy expensive costs, par for the course) but can't be made into artifice... and, while I refused to use any exotic armor other than Actium War Rig and Lion Rampant for personal reasons, they are not available to me from her, even though I have them in my vault and can make stat 48 copies from the collections menu. at this point, not sure if it's "planned", "incompetence", or just negligence... but it has me deleting all traces of Destiny 2 from all platforms, PC and Console
