Marathon is NOT getting off the ground. Most players would not go to Marathon after this hot mess. So the idea of breaking one franchise to enable the other is a broken idea. It was like when Diablo 3 promised all this content to fix what was wrong with the base game and at the last second locked behind a pay wall. Thousands of players just quit. They felt cheated and were cheated. Diablo 3 never recovered their player base and Blizz lost fans in a major way. To this day I will never again touch a Blizzard product! You break a loved franchise this bad it hurts on the bottom line and Bungie is going to feel the sting in their quarterly reports.
