. . . . that having just reached 200, I've already missed out on T5 gear for in 5 months & 2 weeks I doubt I'm even close to 400. And if I take a family vaca (which I'm gonna do in that time frame)( and then the big Holidays/ time with family) I most assuredly wont make the mark.
does that sound like fun to you Bungie?
does it sound even achievable for someone who does not play video games for a living?
maybe when Renegades drops I'll have to make the call on if to go for it or not from day 1, but then again your just going to take away the light level gained, so what's really the point? To maybe have a chance of getting T5 gear that what makes me more powerful than I am right now?

Yes the grind past 200 is a drag, and I’ll repeat it everywhere, the unstable core economy suuuuucks !
. . . . but then again your just going to take away the light level gained, so what's really the point?
It's not just a knock to light level, it's a knock to all gear. All gear will be kicked down to 200, making it feel even worse getting knocked down, after spending hundreds of hours to get that high level gear.

. . . and even if someone were to grind to get a good tier 5 armor set and some good tier 5 weapons, would they even be good in one or two seasons? If they get their power level knocked back down to 200, will it be be possible to power level them back up using tier 1 weapons at a higher power level? Will only a new tier 5 weapon be good to power level it back up? Will it be possible at all to power level it back up? Not gonna spend that much time only to find out bad news later on down the road. I will finish the side-quests and then sit back and watch what happens. I can always follow the story from afar via Twitch or whatever.
