Why does it feel like Bungie disdains its player base?
I feel like I'm in a toxic relationship, constant gaslighting and manipulation.

I watched Tennocon, the way their devs are treated by the Warframe community just because they listened to their community and built an amazing game that their community loves is night and day to how we would treat the CEO, Game Director and other senior leads of this company if they had a similar event. Amazing month said it best in response down below to his statement about the cold reality of Bungie continually screwing over its playerbase being called “opinion” by some die hard Bungie glazer. 1 ReplyI’ve been saying that forever. Most things they do feel passive-aggressive. Like they want us to feel bad. If I was at Bungo, I would try to make decisions that would make my customers happy. Apart from the obvious economic benefit, I could also not imagine doing a job intentionally in a way that my customers would dislike it. They don’t like us. They are elitist. And they keep doubling down on this strategy of showing us that we’re essentially not worth playing their game.

It's okay. Grab the popcorn because redundancies are coming. It will all be their own doing but we will be expected to feel sorry for them. I won't. They earned it. I run a business. In 2020 I had four employees, now I have eleven. Because I listen to my customers and treat them like they are the most valuable part of my business. Because they are. Without them I have no business. Bungie simply do not care what we, their customers, think about anything. Accept it and put your money in the pockets of people who care about you their customer, and the games they make.

4 RepliesToxic AF but got qualities (the gunplay and general loop outside of leveling and the tier crap) that keeps pulling you back. Fr tho I truly don't understand the end goal of the higher ups if they expect long term money, as they'll lose people in the long run as those that are around may not even pay into the system in the first place with the resetting and stingy loot drops. (I didn't buy the expansion because I saw no reason to dump 40-80 on essentially QoL updates)

1 ReplyA: Because they employed a bunch of DEVs with agendas and they hate everyone who is not them. So it is kinda like they hate the player base. That may well be why you feel that way. That is also why I quit paying for any content. Bungie will learn, maybe too late, they bit the hand that fed them.

I think that they are indifferent to anything except the cash flow numbers, and by that I mean into the top guy's pockets, not Bungie's.

This isn;t a game anymore, its a player engagement farm. IBungie is farming playtime these days. Must be tied to a bonus for execs. 'm not sure if its built specifically for streamers, but it does look like a full time job now. Its going to burn out hardcore and make casuals quit.
