It's not a zero tolerance policy if not everyone is held to the same standard. And if cheating was this bad for world's first, just how bad is it everywhere else? It would definitely explain a lot of the curb stomps in pvp if the reduced player population doesn't (more extreme tryhards now compared to the game a few months ago). They need to either ban these people who completed the raid with cheaters (exception being if the guy just joined and cheated that one encounter), or update their TOS to reflect the cheating they are implied to allow at this point

I don’t think banning them all is the solution. Often in the gaming world when a game is doing badly the hacks and scams take over. It’s a combination of many factors on the community side and dev side. It’s kinda like the Titanfall 2 situation. Hackers still hit the game hard, all because they were rightfully upset the company abandoned Titanfall for Apex. Now folks aren’t doing this out of malice like Titanfall but it is the same trend. The player base confidence and behavior is always tied to how Devs respond. Now I’m not gonna make a super long post listing all the ways Destiny may or may not have upset or disillusioned gamers, but the point stands. Another factor is just a simple cause and effect of Destiny doing poorly. Less and less legitimate players are engaging content making the cheaters easier to spot. They always been there, just now the legitimate players have left. That is an unfortunate feedback loop tied directly to the health of the game itself. I personally just blame cross play, but that’s me lols. I don’t like PC Gamers, they cheat. Why? Cause cheating in PC Games is half the fun of playing video games on computers, duh. In the olden times if you got caught cheating in games Devs would do silly stuff to your game. You still got to play but everyone knew you were a cheater and or you had some massive handicap mechanic. I honestly think that’s the solution to cheaters in Destiny. Make a way for everyone to immediately identify a player as a cheater. Ya know? “Hey that blueberry has a Red Bar around their gamer id. Theys a cheater 😂” Something like that. Everyone wins. You know if you’re playing with cheaters, cheaters can still give Bungie money by buying content, cause they will if they enjoy the game. Everyone wins.

Seems it is ok. Bungie seems to be keeping their heads down on this, hoping we'll forget about it and they won't have to ban half the playerbase.

I don't know....if they ban everyone that cheated and the ones in the cheat teams...there won't be anyone left that actually cares about raids so that would affect their raid events and raid traffic in general and that would reduce tracked engagement generating bad numbers they got to report to the investors...big company mentality sucks by the way....no wonder big game company's are loosing so hard they forgot who the games they make are for...

To be fair, they said cheating was a banable offense, not that they were going to ban anyone. Since acknowledging a problem is half a problem solved that makes it 50% and isn't that a passing grade? So no further action required. Maths!
