Bungie you have ruined your game
I am a Day 1 D1 player. I have over 10k hours in this game. I have purchased every expansion good and bad (Curse of Osiris) because I love this game. But I have to say this is the laziest expansion I have ever played. I couldn’t wait to get on and play new content but this expansion is horrible. The missions are repetitive, the map markers are confusing and once you complete the campaign there is nothing to do but to run portal activities over and over again to level up.
You cannot change the modifiers in the fireteam ops or pinnacle ops unless you have a dedicated team to run with.
You want us to also run the campaign mission over again on fabled and mythic for quest steps, some which are tied to the exotic hand cannon catalyst.
I have a few questions:
Who thought that was a good idea? To lock catalyst behind content that was horrible the first time around. Where damage to the yellow bars are 7-15 so it takes forever to get them down.
Who thought we would want to run the same lost sectors, missions on a continuous loop? Who thought that would be fun?
Who thought it was a good idea to drop our power to 10 and think we would want to grind our power to 450? 440 levels when your community has consistently stated they power grind was too much. Is this so you can pad your player numbers? You thought this would be better than 10-20 levels!
Who thought this whole new weapon and armor system was a good idea? You want us to grind for tier 4 and 5 weapons and gear so that in 6 months you can take them away and give us new weapons and gear to grind for. This is a looter/shooter game, this is NOT DIABLO!
Who thought that it was ok, NOT to mention that the new cross bow is locked behind the raid?
Why did you put the new destination materials in the portal and not in our inventory where they are easy to find and have been for YEARS?!
Bungie you do not respect your communities’ time spent playing your game. Your community has spent seasons grinding for god roll weapons and god roll armor states that you have rendered useless. You listen to a handful of elitest and not the community that loves this game!
You are wanting your community to play the game your way. With your weapons and your armor! We paid our money to play the game the way we want with the armor and weapons we choose, that we have crafted and grinded for! If we want to play an MMO we will go play Diablo.
If you want to save your game you need to really LISTEN to your community. No one likes this new system that is why your player count is low. Put it back to the way it was!! We like our map that showed where we could go for pinnacle activities. We liked the OLD way we did GM’s. We like to use our weapons and our gear when we want to use them! I am not saying improvements weren't needed but THIS WAS NOT IT!!
And pls save your trolling comments for someone else’s post. This is my opinion but from reading the forums, I am not alone in this opinion.

And I want my space from the current events regarding the release of "Year of Prophecy," but every day it's getting worse and harder to ignore. Yesterday I made a new build for my Titan with seasonal gear for the first time. I want to keep it instead of changing it every 6 months. Even if I know that it will have less damage and damage reduction with "Renegades" and further DLCs. Today, I watched a video (from Divide), explaining from now on new gear is mandatory in the Portal for an optimal progression. Anything else comes with a "penalty" in the form of less XP. As if the boring Portal isn't penalty enough. The Reward Pass. Making the last 10 ranks, 100 to 110, takes 500,000 XP for one rank (as an example, from 100 to 101). And this, with the limitation of roughly 60 days. Destiny 2 was changed "overnight" into a severe progression system with indirect penalties. And the variety was channeled into one single hub with the Portal. It's so much less, except for the price, which is still the same. Edit: A few days ago, I watched an interview with Tyson Green; the man makes a good impression on me. And because of that (impression), the more I'm asking myself, why did he go that way? No one can tell me that it's going well for Bungie. I really don't get why Tyson implemented all those restrictions. Destiny 2 is their last racehorse; normally, you give someone like this everything you have. I like Destiny 2, but—pardon me—it never felt so stupid!

[i]"you all wanted a grind and bungie delivered,"[/i] is a terrible take in general as anyone who's played games for longer than a year can see that power leveling light levels is a cheap, synthetic, [b]fake[/b] grind that has no place in any game. a real grind in games is learning an activity, farming said content for better armor, better weapon rolls and hard to get gear, not light grinding. i've been here since the start and never complained about light levels until this expansion. it is the most sluggish, tedious bs I have ever endured in any video game, ever. you are restricting players from higher tier gear and game modes for absolutely no reason at all. activity access and the best loot should already be available and if you have the skill necessary to receive great loot, it should be delivered. no part of that is being freely* given, it is earned. these are the same people who fix things that benefit the player within days or even hours, but reluctantly refuse to fix things in the game that are bugged because it’s not in the budget and not worth the time - their time. they also consistently buff weapons and armor that need it, then when players are enjoying said gear, it’s all nerfed back down to the same equal level of shite because it's "too good." the same people that removed paid holiday event cards! ..but then release future holiday events that can't be completed from playing the actual event, but by spending silver to fully complete the 15 ranks. the ranks aren't even tied to an actual mode and are just: go play more portal activities and get tokens for doing more of the same. in summary, bungie obviously despises their players by showing a polarizing display of negative changes regardless of how the players feel, while at the same time begging their community for fundraising donations and requesting or better yet, requiring $100 per year for lackluster content that most likely will be removed anyways. this is the full expression of a devoted bungie supporter who's been here since the very start and feels disrespected and incredibly insulted by how poorly Destiny 2 is being managed nowadays and most, if not all of the Destiny 2 community shares the same feelings of melancholy but is too afraid of sharing their opinions because they get downvoted or flamed for being unhappy with the state of the game. until this game turns around majorly, other games are much more enticing to play for the time being

Because you only go in because you have to, it pretty much stinks, you can't wait to get out and everything in there is utter .. well, you know. And this is from someone still playing.

Remember, Bungie operated under a motto of "We make games we want to play", they say they moved away from that, but it seems they've come full circle. They don't care about community feedback, they take all their ideas from content creators and the masses over on Reddit.

It’s clear they no longer know how to improve it, repeating the same mistakes over and over. I might sound like an a**hole, but I hope they fail and someone else takes over. It’s risky because things could get worse, but at that point I think they’d just shut everything down.

6 Repliesits so bad there are streamers leaving destiny. the tier system sucks. not to mention even if you are 400 if you are not a certain guardian rank you can not get tier 4 loot. artifice armor was better than tier 5. at 200 you should only get tier 3 loot. at 300 only tier 4. at 400 a chance to get tier 5. the work is not worth the loot. we need to grind for loot not power level. there is a chance they will change the system or at least make the loot more rewarding because even streamers are leaving.

Exotic hand cannon catalysts are not locked behind any missions. They’re locked to world tier difficulty which means nothing cause you find the items in patrol.

4 RepliesJust hit 400,but then i saw,to get T4 loot from solo ops U NEED to use so many modifiers to earn that T4 loot. The EASIEST way to get it was to put my power 30 below the enemies. its simply not even fun anymore,they keep feeding us lies upon lies. In my opinion someone at bungie should stream theyr grind from 10 to 450 SOLO for atleast a month,just so they can show theyr community how in theyr eyes how " easy" it is. SOMEONE MAKE IT HAPPEN!!

2 RepliesThe failure to read the room by dmg with his request for D2 memes is infuriating and indicative of this company’s attitude to its most dedicated players. They don’t care. Unlike DE with Warframe, Bungie’s egos and lack of competence has caused them to repeatedly ignore feedback from the community over and over again. I don’t particularly like 3rd person games but I’ve decided to give Warframe a go. At least your grind and time is respected there and the DE team listen to feedback and implement it.

Thought this was a space game traversing the galaxy. The once fun looter-shooter Destiny is the new 2008 WoW - running from Ogrimmar to RFK on foot over and over again until you unlock mounts at level 40. Grinding is so 20 years ago. Why doesn’t Bungie leave power levels alone and instead release new content and rewards? They’ve basically just chopped up old content and inserted new objectives into a single player game. My vault feels useless. My personal playstyle is punished. The NPCs are pointless. The tower is dead. There is no new open-world hub. Nerfs are bountiful. Fun is severely lacking. I want to know, is it Bungie or Sony?

I dare say, yeah they screwed the pooch on this one, I highly doubt I continue on past this one, twas a good run, but all good games make that final turd as they they try to squeeze every last drop out of it

Very well said. I like the portal as a concept. That being said, the execution is just very poor. I just logged off 5-10 min ago because there is literally nothing worth doing besides grinding for (irrelevant) power numbers in the same activities from years ago. That's bad for business Bungie. I always enjoyed playing the seasonal activities for new loot and story beats. I liked working to get pinnacles from the core playlists or playing through the weekly Dungeons/Raids with my friends. What happened to all of that stuff? We literally had WAYYY more in the game just a few weeks ago. Bungie... you have loyal players, like me, that have thousands of hours in your game and who have invested in you. It is time to do something (give us hope) and fix what you broke. I just hope it isn't too hard to do.

2 RepliesI scanned some forums...X/Twitter...um. Are they all dead at Bungie? Do we need need to call the Bellevue Sheriff's office and ask for a wellness check? I see patch notes. But those are boilerplate. Have they addressed this debacle at all? Anywhere? Any sort of damage control? I worked with clients for decades, their projects and their software, it's unfathomable we've gone this long with nothing. I'm now seeing streamers break ranks and begin pleading for a response. If I were DMG I'd be sitting on someone's head until I had something to say. Zero good will from Bungie. That's extremely concerning and communicates that they aren't willing to recognize the players with concerns or even a tiny "mea culpa" on the dead silence. Did I miss something buried in a blog or whatnot? Are they trying to burn the customer base to the ground so that Sony gets nothing? Silence is a breeding ground for conspiracy talk. If they don't respond, players will make their own narrative. Did they all fail product management 101?

Couldn't agree more! And the grind seems pointless anyway, because the stupid Weekly Mythic missions are locked at Player Power 50 below which to me feels impossible to complete. You've got the best solo players out there taking over an hour to beat these damn things.

This move is the lowest bungie has ever gone. They don't address the player base on the grind. nothing but crickets. Arms is total garbage. They lock the bow up. The list is long . it does seem bungle is deliberately running the game into the ground. maybe there butt hurt from marathon .but that game is 5 years to late and should never of been pursued in the first place,not to mention the legal nonsense associated with it. the community pleaded for D3 invest into what works .but no they always do lame things based on delusions of grandeur. As it stands now and there employees and the streamers better seriously be looking for another job.
