I’ve played destiny 2 since the day of release on console and quickly switching to pc. I’ve been a long time fan of destiny 2 and can safely call it my favorite game of all time. I’ve always run the game silky smooth on pc and never had any issues or had to change settings in game or via nvidia control panel.
Recently after the 7/29 update 9.0.0.4 I have been getting small bug noticeable frame skips and stuttering when in PvP or pve. It’s almost like the game is hitching and when I slide, jump (titan lift) or ads it’s at its worst. I’ve tried every fix you can possibly think of. I’ve done a full uninstall and reinstall of drivers (new and old), fully uninstalled and reinstalled the game, I’ve played around with different settings in nvidia control panel including low latency mode, g sync, v sync and others. I’ve deleted my shader cache. I’ve turned off all background overlays. I’ve capped my fps. Tried reflex at off, on, on + boost, changed my pc power settings to max performance, and other fixes. I’ve done most everything I possibly can and it’s still an issue and it’s frustrating because I have never had a single issue running this game at high or low visual settings. Right there with you. I have a brand new i9 14900KF, PNY RTX 5080 DDR7 16GB, 64 GB DRR5 RAM, 2TB NVMe m.2 SSD, AIO cooling, like 9 freaking fans, and an overkill PSU. I know for a FACT it’s not my rig because every other game I play and benchmark I do is flawless. It’s not my monitor either. 144Hz 4K through HDMI 2.1 with G-Sync and V-Sync off. My internet? Nope. AT&T fiber optic 2 up 2 down per Speed test. I have literally tried every single possible fix you could think of, including all of what you mentioned plus like a 100 different more. Nothing. Soon as I boot up D2 and sit in orbit for a minute or 2 the in-game fps counter dips from 144 (capped it at that) to 135, or 139, or 131, etc. then back up in milliseconds. It’s barely noticeable but you can feel it sometimes. It’s making me lose my mind.

Yup, there's definitely something going on under the hood with the game, it's not just you. Tons of people have been reporting problems on here and just about every other outlet. I keep getting lag at some of the worst times, like when trying to aim, and oddly only in the middle of some encounters with some people in pvp. Match will be smooth until I get shot at it, then the whole game freezes for a 1-2 seconds, leaving me useless. There's also been a lot of input latency.
