Hello everyone,
I’m writing this message not to justify any wrongdoing, but to express something that’s been weighing heavily on my heart — and on the hearts of many others who made a mistake during the recent raid Contest Mode.
Some of us, driven by ambition or frustration, made poor choices. We gave in to the pressure, to the desire to earn a triumph we couldn’t reach on our own — and for that, we feel shame and regret. No excuses.
We’re not here to deny our actions, nor to shift blame. We know what we did was wrong. What I want to express — both personally and on behalf of those who feel the same — is sincere remorse. We deeply respect this game, its developers, and the incredible community built around it.
Many of us have played for years, invested thousands of hours, supported every expansion, and celebrated this game’s highs and lows. Which is exactly why our actions feel so out of place — even to ourselves.
This experience has been a wake-up call. We’ve seen the disappointment from the community, and we understand it. We’re not asking for sympathy. We’re not asking for rewards. We just want to say:
We’re sorry.
Sorry to the players who pushed through and completed the challenge the right way. Sorry to Bungie, who put their heart into creating a fair and challenging experience. And sorry to a community that expects better from all of us.
For many, this has been a painful but necessary lesson. And if nothing else, we hope our mistakes serve as a reminder to others: shortcuts always come at a cost.
We will do better.
Thank you for reading.
