I want to start off by saying I understand I’m not an s tier destiny player but I’ve put in my fair share of time and effort. Destiny has always been about the grind to get cool loot to show off and have fun in the endgame, but getting there had become downright dreadful. It’s still early in EOF so content in the portal would be limited but out of all the content over the years and we are stuck to less than 5-10 missions even worth grinding. While repeating those same missions over and over you only get decent loot if you meet rank requirements. yes I can get T5 solstice gear but that continues they cycle of wasted content, why grind for other sets or weapons if I want a chance of remaining competitive with the 10% -blam!- 400 by now. Godroll farming is close to unbearable for me I have horrific rng I can’t even get a roll I want on the campaign auto (50+ roll) and if I do get a good tier I get awful perk. Am I the only only sick and tired of this grind?
Update so after preserving through a bit longer I’m about 340, my general perspective the grind being slow still remains, I understand they understand this and are working to change it. So ill leave it at that but I would like to take a look at the gear and loot. The idea of not going past 200 doesn’t make sense to me, yes it’s going to reset but that’s the point of seasonal content. So we kind of have to grind past the 200 mark to get the best gear of the season, on the other hand the rank requirements themselves gatekeep players who can’t or won’t put the time in. I enjoy the weapon tier system cause it gives even “normal” weapons an adept feeling at t5, not every player prefers raid, trails, nightfall weapons. ( my rng still sucks in that department btw). My issue with the tier system is once again there are entire vaults that’s just became outdated, yes the weapons still work but if advant gaurd is active then what, or wanting old favorite weapons as a t5. It’s still early to tell what they have planned but I’m remaining optimistic.
Also can we get primary melee or non sword options, we basically got little primary shotguns.
Or an stasis exotic rocket pulse
Perk 1 :the 1 shot slows enemies/the 3rd shot freezes slowed enemies
Perk 2: precision kills crest shards
And the catylst: breaking a shard with this weapon partially reloads the mag and the shard shoots ice fragments everywhere

But why are You or Anybody spending Your Time, Energy, & Resources grinding pass 200? You do know that here in a Month or so We'll All be dropped back to 200, so all Your Time and Resources spend will be Lost and for Nothing. I'm fine at 200 and if something higher than 200 drops doing weekly/daily edz, Cos, moon, etc, Bounties. Public events, or Random chests is just a Bonus.

I like the grind when it’s new content. Grinding old stuff for new gear is weak. Also, what are we grinding for? You get to 450 and??? Do more portal battlefields.

I just don't understand the logic in trying to tell players they have six months to reach max Power and Guardian Rank, but then you drop events three weeks in with limited timed rewards that are tied to your Power and Guardian Rank.

I think most of the community were burned out on grind… still having to do the same activities from years ago is just so dull

Look at the latest TWID they already said the grind isn’t working as expected and is too slow. They pay attention, they listen, it will get better. Solstice was already a step in the right direction.

take a break or quit if u need one. go play a game you enjoy and that you feel respects your time. based on the feedback I feel like bungie really messed up with this DLC and that barely anyone really enjoys it. feel like people just tolerate it but don't have fun unless they play with their buddies. like hell I can't even watch any streamers anymore without falling asleep from the content im watching.

Yea, this game sucks. Thank God for Marathon

Edited by FloodZ: 8/7/2025 3:32:27 PMThe game used to be balanced so it was possible for a majority of casual players to reach max level by the end of a season. Maybe they weren't raid ready, or Crucible ready, but they didn't feel like they were leaving anything on the table. Now they've balanced progress in the game to cater to the small population that has 3+ hours per day, every day, to play this game and completely ruined it for the people who play for less than 20 (I'd argue even 30-40) hours per week. And it didn't even work; the people who were complaining things were to easy and they progressed too fast still ground their way to max power and light in a couple of weeks. I would be interested to see how much time the median Destiny player spends in the game, I'd be willing to bet it's far, far less than the amount of time it's going to take to reach 450. I'll also be interested to see what the median power level is for a Destiny player at the end of the season. If it's over 300, I'll be pretty surprised.

My brother already quit playing because of this. I mean, it takes around TEN HOURS to unlock the same level of rewards that we were getting last season. How dumb is that? So now we have to grind just to get the same level of loot as we got last season. So dumb. If that weren't bad enough, now we are getting different rewards for the same activity. Last season, when we played together, we got the same rewards. That's fair. Same difficulty, same rewards. Fair. This season, he gets SIGNIFICANTLY worse rewards than me, even when he plays better. How is that fair? It killed his drive to play, and I am close to quitting as well.

Focus on getting to 400. Then go after weapons. The solstice event really helps with this. Buy the armor per character from gma. All those drops are huge gains + the weapons in the event track.
