As the title says, it's too early in the new DLC to have a perk like this. There are too few options for builds to use for it to be an engaging modifier. I can't run any exotic armor except the new one, and I don't want to use that play-style currently. Players are forced to use loadouts they don't prefer just to get extra points to maybe get better gear. Let players have more flexibility in activities to play the way they want.
Everything should be viable for high-end content.
I'd enjoy Avant-garde if it was a special modifier that showed up as an event like Arms Week right before Renegades or at the end of Renegades' half-update before going into the next 2 DLCs... but give us a really good reason to use the modifier, and don't skimp on the rewards. We should be getting 3x rewards at bare minimum as it'd be the end of the DLC as you want players to want to have some builds from earlier in the year that they decide to use out of a early sense of nostalgia.
That's my two cents though, I hope someone on the Bungie team is looking at these and is working on sending these types of feedback to the right people.

Edited by ELRaSun: 8/8/2025 4:55:25 PMIt’s sunsetting lite. And it adds nothing of value to the game, like so many modifiers. It’s not “difficult” at all. It doesn’t even really impact gameplay. It’s an annoyance mechanic. Same with something like “Haste.” It doesn’t make things “difficult” at all. It’s just an annoyance.. esp in Onslaught where there are long lags between rounds and you still have to run around in circles like a chicken. Or just going in your menu to swap some gear sends your character into convulsions. But there’s a simple fix. Just make it where you have to have “atleast ONE” new item equipped. They accomplish their goal of FORCING you to use new gear, and we still get to, “play the way you want to play.” It’s much smarter and more subtle. Because, if you equip 1 piece of TechSec armor or Bushido armor, you’re probably going to equip 2. Because you might as well get the set bonus. And if you have to use at at least 1 new weapon, you’re going to grind for at least good roll in each slot that fits in one of your builds. This is called… trusting your players. Even then they still shouldn’t force the modifier or spam it.
