Hello, A friend recently got me to try destiny 2. I purchased edge of fate which I think is the latest expansion. When I log into the world, my fps is consistently 20-30 fps despite having a 7800x3d, 32 gbs of ram, and a 7900 xtx. The game is very choppy and completely unplayable but all other games are smooth. I tried lowering my graphics settings, running in windowed mode, tried reverting to older drivers, tried disabling all overlays, and im not running any antivirus except for windows defender. Had to request a refund on steam unfortunately but I don't want to give up on it yet. Wondering if anyone else has this issue or may know what's going on? Thanks.

Guys… I have been having a horrible time with this issue… and I have FOUND MY FIX- My computers default refresh rate was set to 60. I set it to the highest my monitor had (144) and my game looks better than ever Go to settings, system, display, ——> under related settings choose advanced display ——->select the correct monitor—— choose a refresh rate If your refresh rate is low, the game will look choppy with the new settings since edge of fate. Something about how the refresh rate was affected by borderless fullscreen.

Games poorly optimized. We haven’t gotten a real Optimization patch for PC since Forsaken. Not to mention Bungie removed dedicated full screen.

Did you double check that RADEON CHILL is turned off? I have a 7800XT and 7 5700X3D and get 480 fps in orbit and I lock it at 165 in game at 1440p

I'm quite close to your specs, a bit lower. 5800X3D, 32Gb and a 7900XT. I've no issues at all. Most stuffs maxed out but I do turn off motion blur, film grain and anything else that makes your eyes boggle. If all of your other games play fine and your only issue is with Destiny I'd start with a re-installation of your game maybe. Try running it from a different HDD. Are you running it from an M.2 or another SSD? You should be. Do you have ANY other software running at the same time? Monitoring software like Afterburner? It sounds most likely to be a software related issue considering it's only affecting Destiny. I know you said you'd rolled your driver back. I'm currently on 25.8.1 and have been on 25.6.1. until today with no issues...
