[i]TL;DR at the bottom.[/i]
[b]Conquests:[/b] The exact kind of content that myself and many other players are looking for. They're a nice challenge that requires some strategy, but rewards you with a lot of worthwhile loot because of it. However, they have a few things that need to be fixed before they can be great.
[b]1.[/b] [i]Conquests should never have been a one and done activity.[/i] Since Conquests are the new GM's, they need to be farmable, and they need to be available right away without any arbitrary restrictions being placed on them. This means being able to load into them even when you're -100 Power Level below. Yes that would mean you can't damage enemies, but it would also mean you could carry friend(s) through them who are getting back into the game but don't want to go through the ~170 hour grind of Power Level in order to get the fun loot. I also understand that later in the season, or with the launch of Ash & Iron the Conquests will be "unlocked" so that we can complete them all at GM difficulty, but again, this needs to change. We need to be able to farm the Conquests as soon as we step foot into an expansion, not 3 months later after our interest in said expansion has dried up.
[b]2.[/b] [i]Avant Garde needs to be less restricting/removed.[/i] Avant Garde is a weird modifier to me, because we're already getting new loot with a new stat system that we'll be utilizing, but now if we have a piece of old gear that fits better for our stats than any of the new stuff, we're not allowed to access certain content. Edge of Fate seems to have been created as a "fresh start" if you will, by adding featured exotics, featured gear, and giving you bonuses if you wear them, along with a bunch of other things that I'm not getting into right now. That's fine-ish, but forcing us to use your very limited arsenal of new weapons in the new GM-esque activities is very frustrating and completely handicapped most of my builds and most of my brothers builds.
[i][b]In my opinion[/b][/i]: Avant Garde at the very least should allow all exotics - featured or not - to be used, and it should provide negative effects to the player for each piece of gear that isn't a "featured" piece. This can be something as simple as [quote]For every non-featured piece of gear worn, the user will take 5% more damage, and deal 5% less damage.[/quote] That's it though, it should not restrict you from being able to access the activity. There are already so many doors to entry for the content in this game and many of them need to be removed and/or made easier to enter.
[b]TL;DR[/b] Allow us to access Conquests at any time, at any level, and make them a farmable activity that still rewards the same or similar quality of loot to what they are now. Change the Avant Garde restrictions so that all exotics can be used, change the way the modifier works so that it now debuffs the player for each piece of non-featured gear they have equipped instead of locking them out of the activity.
[i]Edit:[/i] Someone suggested making them a weekly lockout which I also agree would be nice, and someone else said they should have a system in place where the more different activities you run back to back the better/more abundant the loot becomes. I think both are great and I hope Bungie does [i]something[/i] to make Conquests more accessible.

Guardian Rank 10 requires [u]six[/u] Grandmaster Conquest completions within the current Season, suggesting that at some point all of the Expert and Master Conquests will have Grandmaster versions added; it may be the case that this will function similarly to the Grandmaster Nightfall Catch-up nodes from previous Seasons, making these Conquests replayable at any time to allow for farming without having to wait on some rotation.
