Haven't seen it a lot yet, but it will catch on.
Insanely hard to combat, considering the ttk with the melee on the glaive is like.4 seconds and they rubber band in your face so it's insanely hard to hit them with anything. On top of that, the lunge distance is like 3 meters. Unless you have special ammo and a shotty, you're done. And good luck hitting your shot, as they will be rubberbanding in your face. Also, good luck if they have feedback fence, you're guaranteed to die at that point.
Real question: why are you allowed to melee with the exotic glaive with no ammo? I understand the benefits in PVE, and I love that... but pvp? Really? Why is it not given the same treatment as swords?
This may not be a big deal in 6v6, but in modes like trials where there is a cap point, and the fact that you guys LOVE to put cap points in the smallest close quarter rooms imaginable - it allows these players to have complete zone control. Only the best tactical play can combat this loadout.
If you're gonna allow people to melee with no ammo, then at least decrease the damage so there is no way they can two hit with even with max melee stat. Additionally, the lunge range needs to be decreased.
Edit: I have now been seeing one hit melees
