Since Edge of Fate there has been a lot of new builds I have wanted to try especially with the new stat bonuses, new exotics, armor sets, and so on and so forth. The problem is to swap to some of these builds you will need to find powerful pieces of "trash" gear to infuse into each and every one of those slots for the build. This just seems overly restrictive and punishing to players who like to switch builds often and it is no fun to have to grind at a lower power level than you actually are because you wanted to use different abilities.
Here is the best solution I have seen in my opinion: Bungie should no longer require a gear piece to raise another gear pieces level. Instead, you simply pay an enhancement core and unstable cores (if applicable) and that piece of gear is raised to the highest power level item you have received in that slot. For example, if your highest power level helmet you have received is 350 power you should then be able to infuse any helmet(s) you want to 350 provided that you have an enhancement core and unstable cores (if applicable).
I am curious to know other's opinions on this or if someone has a better system in mind. There has to be a less restrictive way to switch builds in my opinion. Thanks for listening to my Ted Talk!
