I should not NEED to use resources outside of the game to play ANYTHING.
TL;DR Add matchmaking to EVERYTHING. Give us the option to OPT OUT.
The new Portal feature, i like. I think it's fine. Organized. But the very simple fact is that essentially

is Solo ops, because virtually N O T H I N G has matchmaking. Matchmaking should've always been a feature that can be turned off, not something that doesn't exist. I have hardly played EoF because everything has to be done alone. There is no in game way to play with people. I have to use Discord LFG. Which would be fine for Raids. But basic content? Why am i being forced to play alone?

There is no in game way to play with people? Yeah other than matchmaking on quite a bit of stuff and in game fireteam finder for the stuff that doesn't have matchmaking. Yes with your attitude the days of being able to make friends do seem to be over.

"The days of making online friends is over." Continues to play an online game that heavily focuses on multiplayer and then complains. Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Elden Ring, Minecraft. Those might be more your speed. -
First off, 32 isn't old, it isn't even middle age yet, 38 is middle age. I am old, I'm 50 and I recently joined a new clan, probably the oldest one in it, so I don't think the number defining the rotations around the sun count for much when it comes to making friends. Approach does matter, so look for a clan, tons of them around, if it isn't a good fit try anoither one ... You are never too old to make new friends . Get out there and get some loot with some new friends! (If the RnG isn't still very broken!)

Being 32 isn’t the issue, plenty of people that age or even older are still capable of making friends to game with, you’re just clearly a miserable person. You don’t have friends? There is matchmaking for QuickPay and on the top three activities in Fireteam ops. What I think they should have done though is let matchmaking be a toggle for everything though. Because sometimes I'd love to do one of the "non-featured" actives with fandoms and equally I'd love to just do a playlist by myself that's not just fireteam ops all the time.

Fireteam finder, make a post, mute the people so that social interaction doesn't scare you.

I would love to watch a compilation of shorts from people who demand matchmaking in everything rage quiting in a dungeon or raid because of lack of communication/coordination/ability to not blow oneself up with their own grenade. Would make for great television. Especially Riven.
