Hello,
I'm trying to understand why my Bungie ID: Assashina, which I've had since 2017, was changed to "Redacted1308," which violates the Bungie Name Code of Conduct.
I've been using this name since Destiny 1 and haven't experienced any issues to date.
My gamertag is associated with all my other platforms.
Furthermore, I can't change it.
My gamertag is my identity.
I also stream Destiny 2 using this name, and no one is shocked.
Please do what's necessary to restore my original Bungie ID

Hello! A name reset to default like that means it was detected or reported, reviewed by Bungie and reset to"Redacted####", that indicates that some part of the name broke the Code of Conduct or the Bungie Name Policy, was filtered, and cannot/should not be used again. When that happens, you get the new name cross play message in-game as notice of the name change. You can try a different name if you have a name change available. If the system is not allowing more changes, there is no way to override it. Additionally, I am not privy to what portion of the name policy or code of conduct your name was running afoul of. All I can advise is that once the name has been moderated by Bungie, it is no longer available for use. If you have a name change available still, you can change it to a different name.

Bungie won't tell you why it was changed. We can only assume on why.

Bungie won't restore the previous name, if you have a token then you can pick something else as your previous name has most likely been added to the filter. If you manage to change it back to the same name then fully expect it to be changed again. If you believe there was an error with the filtering then you can submit feedback about certain terms here. This form does not guarantee it will be allowed in the future, just they will consider removing it from the filter.
