I honestly don’t think I’ll play if I get reset to 200. This grind was crazy and I’m only 350. Just don’t know if I can do it again.
-
Between the Power Reset and the controversial nature of the DLC, it'll be interesting to see just how drastic the dropoff of players will be with Renegades.
-
lol same man, I tried grinding yesterday and only could take it for an hour and had to get off D2. I can’t do this grind every 6 months. Plus it takes WAY TOO LONG! Not for me.
-
Whoever at Bungie thought this would work was totally off target. I can't remember a rejection like this regarding a Destiny 2 DLC like "Edge of Fate." It's naive to think this will not have an effect on Marathon. It's unfathomable what just happened with the game. How Bungie treats his (Destiny 2) veterans—like they have an army of them in reserve.
-
This grind is a lazy way to make up for no content. It's unnecessary, period. And they know it. Even exploring Kepler, it's just depressing. Nothing but reused location materials and objects. How many times do they also want us to run things like "The Inverted Spire", and "The Devil's Lair"? Which the latter has literally been around since D1. Reused again. This was a complete money grab. Won't fool me again.

I have hit 200 and stopped playing because I think this progression system is purely based on engagement time rather than enjoyment or skill.
-
I don’t give a crap about this grind if there is new fun stuff to play. If we’re still playing SAVATHUNs spire I’m def out. I’m mostly out now.

Edited by Regret: 8/16/2025 8:01:59 AMThis is another choice I don’t get…. Grind has become the content…. Sadly….I don’t feel this is sustainable for very long even the most “dedicated” of players may start to give up!

Jet Set Willy
Playing tells Bungie you like this 💩 - old
I don’t blame you. I quit after my characters were reset to 10. -
I dont get bungie hellbent obsession with resetting rank and power, imagine if other games like Warframe did that? If my frames went back to level zero I would dip without a doubt lol
-
I just found out about this. They're insane if they think we are all just going to jump on this hamster wheel.
-
As soon as i heard that our power was going to get reset every 6 months i was out. How anybody thinks having power reset every 6 months is a good thing are out of their damn minds and need to seek help for their addiction
-
Yeah you’re gonna keep playing regardless
-
I'm 428 and dreading the grind to 450 then 550....reset just makes me wanna pound my face into some cement
-
I honestly don’t think I’ll play if I get reset to 200. This grind was crazy and I’m only 350. Just don’t know if I can do it again.
Should leave the grind as is, but not reset it.
-
We need you to play because we need the money for the expensive car collection. This is an essential passive income that supports our full time hobbies. It’s not cheap collecting cars. If we can get you on a hamster wheel with minimal effort then we can milk you for money. The car collection won’t collect itself you know
-
Bungie is absolutely insane if they think that it's ok to reset everyone to 200
-
370 also won't play if reset unless the new max is 300 280 for non pinical 280-300 for pin
-
Same here this reset is stupid....im barely 250 just dont have the motivation to play game the story is not coherent at all full of holes...but like good ole Pete says " only thr best is working on destiny " that's why it's full of bugs 😉
-
Im up to 415 and I feel the same way. There's just no chance I can or will want to do this again so soon.
-
The worst part is that loot is tied to Power. If rewards were seperate, I wouldn't care
-
So you don’t want to grind the same recycled content all over again, and again and again and again, just to change the number on your LIGHT LEVEL and be able to re-do same recycled content? Where is your sense of fun!
-
Resetting isn't the issue. If you're not going to play anymore if you're going to get reset to 200 then you better quit now because it is going to happen. The REAL issue is that Destiny 2's power progression feels way to slow and not rewarding. Let's take Diablo 4 as an example. The reset there is even worse but only on paper. The game is split between Eternal and Seasonal realms and seasons are only played on the Seasonal Realm. This means each season you'll have to create a completely new character from scratch and do the whole grind all over again. But there's a major difference. The power progression is nowhere is slow as Destiny, Loot drops in abundance, you're never out of resources for upgrading your gear and build crafting is far, far more in depth. So resetting isn't the issue but it's how Bungie goes about it.
-
Oh you will, and you'll love it 👌
-
The question is, would you rather. 1) let it go up to 450. Then Renegades has a similarly painful grind up to 700. Meaning anyone who doesn't grind to max out falls further and further behind. Also Bungie have a wider range of power levels in the playerbase to balance out. ... Or ... 2) reset to 200. Have the same 250 point grind. But activity power levels stay consistent for both existing and newer players It works out the same for both. But 2 is just easier for everyone.

Edited by TACO_Adept: 8/16/2025 9:51:01 PMSame here.. it's been the biggest (and bugged) PITA. There's certainly no way I'm doing this garbage again. Plus, it's boring as all hell.. endless runs of K1 and Scorch in PVP. There's more to the gaming life than this!! If Bungie don't make a change, I'm deleting..
