Want to know why we are getting reset to 200?
Destiny 2 has been losing players faster than a arctic fox loses its winter coat in florida.
In order to make the game have some appeal to the phantom new player base that none ever see, our power level will be reset every quarter so the gap between players appears to be marginal. Its all smoke and mirrors.

It’s called social engineering. A lot of people are attached to social cue in the game that reflect their level of mastery of the mechanics. Highest tier gear, god roll,… the game has a social dimension. By resetting everyone back every 6 months they ensure most player feel compelled to keep grinding again by Fear of Missing out on the latest shiny tool or falling behind. And of course the more you play the more likely you are to spend… unfortunately this has not been designed with players best interests in mind, but as a way to leverage our time.
