What makes PVP bad to play?

We’ve been hearing it for years, the popular opinion is that PVP is a raging inferno of odorous excrement. I’m interested to hear why people dislike, hate, abhor PvP. Feel free to be honest or even say why you like it.

Bad connections, too much aim assist, lack of decent rewards, nerfs to space magic etc etc
