Does anyone remember the launch of D1 leading into the Taken King? I do. Does anyone remember Vanilla Destiny 2? I do. They were foundational at best... in D1 we got hard wipes where EVERYTHING we were using was literally power capped for new content making everything you grinded for completely useless. That's a hard wipe. I'm writing this because last night I started breaking down my vault pre-EoF. BUT... I don't care, because that's how great all the new gear is. I can't think of one new weapon that's bad... and sure it's limited; however, we used to get a plethora of new gear... and 90% of it was useless day 1. Armor sets existed and before the ornament system had no purpose. Most of the weapons ... I remember when Dust Rock Blues came out in Warmind... I grinded probably 30 hrs in that Lost Sector on Mars... then I never used it. I grinded 3 months for randomly spawning Warmind nodes... for an emblem. I grinded out a lot of stuff that had ZERO practical viability in-game... and I'm not talking about preferences. Ok, that's the preamble. Some days... like in 2 days I'll see 2 prime drops... and then I'll get 7-8 in a night. I'll grind for hrs for an archetype split in the slot I want... AND the game WON'T give it to me... ANYTHING BUT BULWARK... 😭. Seriously, I'm not super picky in the beginning. But then you GET IT... and you min-max a Tier 5 set 😉... 🙃... 😂. Holey molely chocolate chip cannoli! DON'T TAKE THIS THE WRONG WAY.... please. But as many are lamenting the grind, I'm wondering IF it's too generous. I'm literally running out of stuff to chase. I spent years perfecting my armor pre-EoF... I spent NOT thousands of runs in LS's... THOUSANDS of HOURS ... in LOST SECTORS. And it was always the same... and there was one a day... AND I had NO idea what I was going to get. We're starting over... THESE are foundational changes the game desperately needed. And it's somewhat limited. There are growing pains. BUT I've seen enough to know how good it's going to get once these systems get adjusted and dialed in. I HAVE 3 min-maxed Tier 5 kits now... 1 for each character... and from power level 10... it took me a month. At a level that used to take LITERALLY YEARS! I know many will hate this post, but I needed to put it out there... To me... THIS IS THE FUTURE. THIS IS Destiny 3. @Bungie... stay the course, it's going to pay off... I don't 'love' everything... BUT I still love it 😇👍💠.
