As per the recent TWID, I'm here to give some feedback regarding the state of the Warlock class identity in Destiny 2.
The reason I picked Warlock as my main since D1 was to play as a space wizard - and what do wizards excel in?! Magic of course, and in the case of Destiny's sandbox their core abilities. However, it feels as though the class has been slowly stripped away since the beginning of the 3.0 subclass changes. And looking post edge of fate, it feels like what I could do on a Warlock can just be performed better on another class.
Although I'm glad Warlocks are being looked into with the changes listed short term, there needs to be a look at their class identity as a whole to get to the root of the issue - what is a Warlock supposed to be? It shouldn't be just a support role, which is the direction I feel like it's been going over the years.
My answer to this question: As the class that is supposed to have mastered the arcane arts, Warlocks should be able to build into and empower their core abilities to their fullest extent. Let me be able to frequently cast cool space magic as the space wizard I'd envisioned!

Can you not already spam your abilities on almost any subclass (or at least the viable ones), as well as having elemental things that do damage for you automatically?
