As a recent returning player to Destiny 2, I am finding myself asking the question, does the bungie devs even play the game or know what fun is anymore? Lets not even talk about the level of grind in the game now to achieve 450 power. I thought I remember bungie saying something about with the power reset and the new portal system there is no limit to how much power you can achieve. I must have been dreaming.
No, my real issue is the mythic missions. I have no issue with the difficulty of the missions. What I have issue with, is the fact that all the enemies and bosses are basically just bullet sponges. I am at 402 power level. It takes AGES to kill any yellow bar enemies. Bungie, this is NOT fun. These new kepler missions are INSANELY long and they are just not fun at all. I mean, I get that you dev's poured a lot of hard work into the game, but did you even play it as you were designing it??? Again, the mythic missions ARE NOT FUN. The rewards for the mythic missions are MOST DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE TIME INVOLVED IN THE MISSION. I'm sorry but I don't want to have to become a speed runner just to get through these missions in a decent amount of time for toilet bowl rewards. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do something about this bungie. You guys seemed to be making mistake after mistakes and bad design after bad design. The campaign and story was interesting and I would have given it 5 stars if it wasnt for the mission length. It felt sooo tedious getting through. I want to like destiny. I want to enjoy playing destiny, but right now I just cant do it. Please get back to greatness. MDGA..... MAKE DESTINY GREAT AGAIN!

Have you seen their reveal streams? Did you see that one video where they couldn't kill an Overload Champion in a Lost Sector (back when that mattered)? It's clear that they aren't playing the game if they can't spawn in everything they need to deal with a problem.

For the 2nd week in a row Bungie added a new mission to legacy exotic rotator but forgot to add any loot pool. Does anyone really think anyone at Bungie actually plays the game or does QA? Changing power levels and getting gear via console commands to make promotional videos doesn't count
-
They don't test anything and even if they do, it's on "dev build" where it's way different than the release version
-
U could see during live streams how clueless they are. Nowadays they are not even playing live, they just show recorded stuff.
-
I doubt the developers have the time to test their own created content. Bungie had layoffs, including their internal QA team, which is messy but also explains a lot.
-
Doubt they play it much outside of work. Working on the game and playing it in your free time would likely burn anyone out.

Edited by Zypher: 8/20/2025 7:15:36 PMThe only rewarding thing on Kepler is the "Loot Cave". Everything else is a complete waste of time and barely rewards you for it.
-
Clearly not.
-
It feels like they don't play it outside of their work and it shows.
-
Totally agree with the Mythic thing. Hiding in a corner with Polaris Lance for 15 minutes is dumb af.
-
we are the playtester please move on.
-
Bungie? Play the game? lol
-
Of course, they test it, in-house im sure using good computers with good internet and they are the devs so they probably have a different set up then us and they play with other devs and play testers in controlled environments. They have no clue what it is like to play on a ps5 with someone hundreds or miles away on Wi-Fi that they dont know. Play test sure, but not quality play testing. They should be forced to go to McDonald's and use their wifi to play on a laptop that can barely handle the game and see how it runs for them. Maybe play for 5 hours straight after work every day to level up and see how bad it feels when you hit 400 and dont even get one good drop in that 5 hours and stay stuck at the same level for days.

I think dmg does?
-
They dont... like a lot of other people they quit along time ago... and you should follow suit
-
Apparently, they had someone on the Salvation's Edge World's First team playtest Desert Perpetual.
