I can't progress to guardian rank 8 which requires me to run a portal activity with the famine modifier because famine modifiers are disabled for this week long special weapon event. This effectively halts my progression in the game until next weekly reset because loot quality is dependent on guardian rank. Being stuck at rank 7 with quite literally no way to progress for a week as my friends and clan who managed to get this done before weekly reset progress way ahead of me feels absolutely awful. You've made an entire group of players have no avenue to progress and increase their loot quality for a whole week with this change. Please either allow famine mods or auto-complete this rank objective for everyone. This is one of the most tone-deaf and anti-player decisions of all time in this game and the number of posts here and on twitter regarding it make it clear that the community is not happy about it. Randomly time-gating rank progression ONLY for those below rank 8, after others have already progressed above rank 8 for an entire week has destroyed many people's morale and motivation to play the game.
