Greetings everyone in the community!
Bungie, I hope you read this as well.
The reason I'm making this post is to express my personal opinions about Edge of Fate and everything that comes with it.
I would like to hear your (the community) thoughts because I enjoy a variety of perspectives on this matter, so let's respect each other's viewpoints and have an enjoyable interchange. 😉
I will number my thoughts so you can number your responses to each if you like.
1. I've been having a blast with this expansion, including the campaign, the triumphs, and the side quests. The origin story of Ikora was a nice touch, and Lodi is very likeable. I also love using matterspark. It's awesome having a second health bar, blinding, jolting, amplified, and an escape plan all rolled into one. Rolled, get it?
2. I really enjoyed the difficult power grind, because only the most dedicated are first to 450, instead of every casual Explorer in the game reaching max light at the same time.
3. The rewards for reaching max power and guardian rank are tremendously worth it! I absolutely love the new armor stats and bonuses. Build crafting is an absolute dream come true now. I've never felt more powerful, efficient, and enamored with my guardian!
4. The new weapons are phenomenal, and I have a blast farming a variety of PVP and PVE to acquire them (Unless I'm up against sweats, lol.) T5's are beautiful and powerful!
5. The portal, challenges, and rewards track are excellent. The portal is simple, attractive, and full of variety. I look forward to more being added as time progresses.
6. Overall, I think Bungie did amazing with all the updates, as they strive to keep improving the gamer experience. I've never had so much fun or been so hooked to D2 as I am this season.
7. My only criticism is that many people don't have as much time to grind for the best loot as I have. Perhaps you should consider making the grind less stressful and more rewarding for casuals.
8. Finally, I'm not blind to Bungie's mistakes, manipulations, devious marketing tactics, greed, corruption, and victimizing their consumers. I've shared all my anger and rage towards these issues countless times on forums. Today, I just wanted to give credit where it is due. To all the developers who put their heart and soul into the gamer experience, I give a big warm thank you! 🤗

Bungie employee alert? Too many positives here is this an AI bot??

The grind and tying that to your rewards is the worst thing they have ever done in this game

1. Campaign was solid. Better than Lightfall, worse than Witch Queen or TFS. No complaints here. 2. I also like that the grind exists, but I think that there needs to be more opportunities to earn higher tier loot before you hit 400. Either by upping the difficulty or offering weeks like Solstice with low chances for high level drops. 3. It’s really nice, but so many people won’t be able to experience the vast majority of it due to how tied in it is to light level and sheer time investment. 4. What weapons we got are great, but the number of weapons available is too low. An easy solution for the Crucible, Standard Portal, and Pinnacle rewards would have been to reissue the last 3 newly added weapons from their complementary sources. - Crucible: Joxer’s Longsword, Anonymous Autumn, Better Devils - Standard Portal: Origin Story, Wicked Sister, Cynosure - Pinnacle: Palindrome, Lotus Eater, Cruel Mercy Perhaps also update the perks for the reissued versions. Hopefully they are going to fix this with Ash and Iron. 5. Portal isn’t bad, but the Fireteam Ops is a massive failure. Not only are the rewards vastly undertuned compared to the others, but so many of the options do not have active matchmaking. There are so many activities in this playlist that are never featured to have matchmaking. This drastically lowers the amount of things in this playlist. Either: - Have the selection rotate more frequently - Save 1 of the featured slots for a non-strike/battleground activity. (My preferred option). I have yet to see Coil, Savathun’s Spire, etc have matchmaking. 6. It’s not bad. It’s probably the most approachable it’s felt in years, but the game currently feels extremely shallow. This is largely due to the poor reward structure Bungie has added for the vast majority of the game’s activities combined with how important power leveling is for rewards.
7. My only criticism is that many people don't have as much time to grind for the best loot as I have. Perhaps you should consider making the grind less stressful and more rewarding for casuals.
7. 100%. Basically, Bungie implemented a lot of things that are good in theory and the current stage is all growing pains. BUT Bungie needs to keep their foot on the gas - the current game has massive issues that need to be fixed ASAP. - Rewards need a massive overhaul. - The grind is ridiculous time investment. - So few of the community has had a chance to even try the benefits of the stat overhaul due to the grind to reach tier 4 and 5. - New Gear bonus disincentivizes grinding - Fireteam Ops are DOA - The game feels too shallow

Apologies if I came off too hot. Just wanted an exchange of ideas.

I thought the campaign was pretty cool at the time I played it, but I only really liked the last few missions. It’s felt like a too long of a build up to seeing III and the Archon. Lodi is awesome. Absolutely no complaints there. 2. I’m currently just under 320. I’m not a huge fan of the power grind. Historically, I’ve always disliked the power grind. I’m not huge fan of how the bonus drops rotate after every time playing something. Like I can’t just continue to play Control because the bonus drops go away after playing once. 3. Can’t comment too much, only gotten a couple of tier 4’s. Definitely like the tiered loot. Feels like a good chase. Just need to get higher level. It’s good that guardian rank feels like it actually means something now. I’ve never bothered with it until now. (Cont progress this week because famine I currently disabled😡). 4. + 5. I do like the weapons. And the portal is good, but needs more imo. We have so much content in the game and the portal barely uses any of it. And if it’s not in the portal it’s is not worth playing. I miss the weekly consistency from pre portal for pinnacle drops. 3 vanguards, 3 crucible games, nightfall, etc… There is no weekly lock-out now, but playing the same solo-ops over and over is not fun. I need more variety in the portal. 6. Updates have been okay, I’m looking forward to the updates in ash and iron. 7. I’ve heard the power grind from 400 is tough. Not looking forward to it. Making it easier would be great (for those that are there lol). My main criticism is the portal stuff I mentioned above.

I’ll give benefit of the doubt, but point 5 is straight BS. The portal is a quarter baked idea implemented with little to no care of player agency or time. The only thing I’ll agree to on said point is it will get better. I look at the portal, and think to myself, “that’s what they came up with?” Yeah, let’s go from Final Shape to Windows 8. I wholeheartedly disagree with everything about the portal. It feels like it’s in early access. Guided games landed better. As much fun as I’m having with Destiny, the portal ain’t it. It’s uninspiring. When they dulled the colors of the director, it was really just a projection of what the portal was to become.

Good points. I am not a fan of this system because it rewards you for spending large amounts of times in minimally challenging and monotonous activities (solo ops) rather than for overcoming challenges. I also felt the mythic missions were tuned to be incredibly boring since the adds are just billet sponges and the add density is very low.
-
I dislike that the reward experience rewards those with more time rather than skill. The game used to reserve the highest tier rewards to those who took on the highest level challenges in pvp and pve. Now, anyone who simply puts in the time is able to achieve the highest tier rewards, whilst someone who doesn't have the time to grind will never be able to achieve the highest tier rewards even if they're completing difficult activities. (bar the raid - the one place that rewards those who take on the higher challenges[feats]). I don't mind grinding in games, but doing the same activities with relatively no new additions made the grind really boring. I would have had a blast if solo received 6 new missions, FT ops got 4, pinnacle got 3 in additional to the old stuff being there.

Awesome thanks for this Bungie intern
-
This gotta be a Bungie PSYOP right? literally saying all the things everyone is complaining about are good lmao
-
I dont like the mini battle pass, the old way was better and faster to progress for what I actually want
-
It would be nice if you could “lock” your difficulty. Meaning you stop gaining light level and maintain the corresponding tier.

It’s like you read my mind.👍
