At 450, PvP is great for consistent Tier 5 drops, however, PvE should follow that same consistency.

TL:DR, Tier 5 drops need to be better in the PvE portal portion of the game. I'm not a game developer of any sort, so I am not sure how to fully solve this issue. I have reached 450 last Saturday a few days before solstice ended. Solstice definitely boosted the power gains especially having 3 separate characters to gain power on during the week. Over the last few days, I've noticed a bit about loot after reaching 450. Keplar drops are pretty good in mythic difficulty paired with the +2 gear tier available after reaching 450 where Tier 5's drop pretty consistently. My experience with Tier 5 drops in PvP have been wonderful at 450 whether or not i performed well after every match. Every match that I've achieved a B+ rating on, I was awarded multiple Tier 5 pieces of gear even after losing, which is fantastic. In complete contrast, having just a slim "chance" at Prime engrams/Tier 5's is not a good incentive to run pinnacle, fireteam, and solo ops for hours at a time, especially reaching the cap of 450 at the moment. While not a good incentive, it is the only way to attain Tier 5 gear from those loot pools, so we're kinda forced to run them. At 450 power, to me it doesn't make sense to always have PvP modes drop Tier 5's while most PvE modes will still drop loot as if you're 400 power. My luck hasn't been too terrible when it comes to getting prime engrams to drop, having to play through at least 15 solo ops before getting a drop which in caldera specifically takes like 45 minutes to 1 hour. (which is still quite a bit of time for a SINGLE drop.) The longest i've gone without getting a single Tier 5 drop was 3 HOURS, which has only happened once to me. While yes, Bungie really wasn't expecting players to reach 450 yet, it was definitely not out of reach. With a few hours a day (around 4-5 hours of grinding efficiently) and the solstice event boosting the power gains even further, I was able to reach 450 last weekend. For reference, I jumped from 410 (the start of solstice) to 435 (within just a few days on all 3 characters + weekly vanguard reset.) Call me unemployed or whatever, but I do enjoy the grind at the moment though, I think the game is heading in a good direction. It would just be nice to have more/better loot at a higher Tier, especially for my efforts :)

The fact you hit the grind to 450 is comical considering you’re losing it soon. Theres no point in playing this game anymore. Bungie forced an incredibly unnecessary and time consuming grind only to forcibly reset it in the near future. That kills any kind of desire to progress let alone play the game anymore. The raid was designed to essentially be impossible for new players. The game is not friendly towards new players at all. PvP is dead. Bungie won’t address the pc cheaters. They force a 50/50 W/L algorithm. Trials is literally more rewarding if you lose a game and flawless essentially isn’t a thing anymore. I stopped playing at this seasons launch. There was zero incentive. Once Sony fully absorbs Bungie, they have a lot to fix before players return.
