The sheer number of times you’ve given all expenses paid secret behind the scenes tours and private demos to streamers is ridiculous.
If follower numbers mattered, Joshua Block has over 5 million followers so maybe he should be flown into bungie HQ instead of your streamers who flaunt their 1 million followers as if that’s actually something. If a belligerent alcoholic autist can have more followers than all the top destiny streamers combined, then maybe it’s time to reconsider what internet clout really means.
Maybe influencers really aren’t that important ??
Maybe people really don’t want harder and harder content, even less power fantasy, or worst of all shorter time gated content like events that only last 1 or 2 weeks long at max.
Iron banner worked being only 1-2 weeks since it came multiple times a season. At least once a month. Solstice only comes once a F-ing year and you think only 2 weeks is enough to celebrate it?

Bungie does bring non content creator players in to get their perspectives. We seldom hear much about it because - you know - they don't create content. It's also true that someone who plays a game for a living probably has a better understanding of the details of game systems than the average Joe. Most of the top creators consistently play with highly skilled players who also have an advanced understanding of game mechanics. Finally, content creators constantly get feedback from regular players via comments and chat. It's been my experience over the years that many players watch content creators as a how-to. I've never seen the attraction of watching someone else play a game. But I'm all in on someone showing me how raid mechanics work or explaining the details of the new armor system. Maybe Bungie should do a better job of that in game but it's never been that way and probably never will. The classic comment "no experience necessary but please watch a video" is a standard for raid lfgs. A lot of players use builds they learned about from videos. Like it or not - for a lot of people content creators are a major interface with the game. Does that mean they have a deeper, more nuanced, and more informed opinion than you or I? Probably. Do they have a vested interest in influencing the game in a direction that lets them keep paying their bills? Certainly. Wouldn't you? And of course - free marketing is free marketing.
