To me Destiny is more than just a game. In 2016 at Destiny”s Zenith I lost my older sister due to an illness and not even 2 weeks after her funeral my brother was killed on his motorcycle by a drunk driver. The friends I made in Destiny, clan members and non clan members supported me , counseled me, some sang songs for me many even prayed for me and the rest of my family. Total strangers sent heartfelt messages. Suddenly people wanted to be in my fireteam for Hard Nightfalls, Iron Banner, Raids and dead ghosts hunting. Destiny was a crucial part of dealing with the overwhelming grief I was experiencing. I never seen such an outpouring of concern, compassion and love from people I’ve never met in person. I play a lot of games but it was this community that rallied for me and kept me engaged in the game I enjoy. Seeing all these negative changes to the game and players leaving the game altogether feels like another death to me. Destiny community deserves so much better than what it’s been getting lately.

I'm sorry for your loss, and I don't want to sound rude, but is not a matter of deserving but demanding. The whole video game industry is in the gutter because gamers stop demanding quality and are constantly paying for trash. You never reward a bad business with your money. You deserve what you tolerate. As long as players still buy these DLCs day one, all the crap on the Eververse, dungeon keys, etc, companies like BUNGIE will not give a -blam!- about what you deserve. They will give you what you are paying for. And players are paying for trash and a lack of respect for years. Everything needs to burn down to be rebuilt in a better way. It's the way it is with everything in human history.

Edited by STiNKyWizLTeaTs: 8/24/2025 10:01:38 PMThat is heartbreaking, and I am very sorry for both of your losses. They might be gone but never forgotten. There was a post I read this weekend, and the guy was about 50. He played the game with his kids as they were growing up, but they don't play anymore. I have seen many posts like this, and it might be their own kids or grandkids. I don't think people realize that Destiny 2 was more than just a game to many. https://youtu.be/VNdZBZRnSxQ?si=OOJmOHrHpcDPIJBD

I know this might sound cliché, but someone close to me told me something that really helped me through a really tough time. They said, life can, and will, take an awful lot from you. The one thing it can't take, memories. Those are yours to keep forever. Make some good ones.
