Before we start i have 6k hour on warlock between my accs so.
General Kit & Movement
• There is no real kit for Warlocks.
• You only get one dodge instead of two just because people couldn’t hit their shots.
• Dawnblade is the only subclass with movement that doesn’t mess you up.
• Blink requires jumping up to move forward, which is awkward it should work more like Icarus Dash but instant.
• Other subclasses (Arc, Strand, Prismatic) need movement options — right now they’re sitting ducks compared to Hunters and Titans.
Subclass Comparisons
• Dawnblade melee refund: You must be in the air to get half your melee back on a kill, while Hunters just dodge to instantly get theirs back with zero risk.
• We get a ball if arc on Kepler, but Warlocks can’t even transform into something similar for movement on arc. Arc Warlock movement wastes your ability if you miss, unlike Titan movement, which has a short cooldown.
• Prismatic: Basically only useful for PvE.
• Void melee: Inconsistent sometimes it tracks, sometimes it doesn’t.
Abilities & Balance
• Firebolt grenades: Don’t kill, weak tracking, and barely do any damage (4–5 ticks like enemies are immune to fire). Should work like Thorn shots.
• Rift: Way too long of an animation you’re basically dead if you try to pop it, unlike Titan shield.
• Phoenix Dive: You launch all the way up into the air only to heal 30 HP. Needs to give more.
• Icarus Dash: Nerfed to 1 dodge just because people couldn’t hit shots. Should have 2 again, or at least a faster speed buff.
• Snap: Inconsistent.
• Celestial Fire: Too slow and inconsistent. Meanwhile, Hunter knives got buffed and now track to the head, plus they fully refund on a body shot kill.
Airborne Effectiveness (AE)
• If Dawnblade is about wings and flying, why doesn’t it get passive AE?
• AE is terrible right now, and the only exotic that helps just makes you float in one place with no movement.
Hunter & Titan Advantages
• Hunters can remove Aim Assist while dodging why can’t Warlocks do something similar with dash, especially since Solar is supposed to be mobility focused?
• Arc Hunter can spam a lane of Lightning safely from a distance, with jolt and high damage, then get it back instantly with dodge.
• Titans get free movement, shields, and easy melee spam.
• Meanwhile, Warlocks need to do 10x more work for the same results.
Exotics
• Only two exotics are seen in PvP: Ophidian Aspect and Transversive Steps.
• Needs more PvP viable exotics to compete with Titan and Hunter diversity.
Overall Issue
• Warlocks feel like they have no place in PvP, only used in PvE for Well then tossed aside.
• Hunters have infinite abilities, Titans punch and shield with ease, but Warlocks get nothing but clunky abilities.
• No wonder half the player base mains Hunters:
• Hunters = good kits, free dodge.
• Titans = fists and shields.
• Warlocks = sit behind cover with Rift (boring).
• It’s been years Warlocks badly need a complete rework.

Edited by NotCreative123: 8/25/2025 12:12:58 PMSolar Warlock has been meta since inception It has always had one of the top win rates in the game Not being able to succeed on Solar Warlock is a skill issue I feel less strongly about the other Warlock subclasses. Just like Titan and Hunter, Warlocks have several seemingly "weak" subclass options. EDIT: Oh, and being able to spam Hunter melees is a problem rn, but I don't expect it will last forever. I don't think the game should be balanced around this. Instead, I think abilities that return melee energy need to be looked at.
General Kit & Movement
You have the fastest lateral movement in the game, barring glitches. You have the best AE build in the game, should you build into it. You have the only aerial mobility that keeps you in the air when used. You can get to otherwise impossible angles because of your aerial kit.
Subclass Comparisons
Hunters lose their escape tool if using it to get a melee back. Outside of gimmick builds, Hunter Melees are just utility tools. Rift is a fight-prep tool, not an in-combat savior. Treat it like one. One Dash is the same as Two if people can't hit shots. Use Dive to return to the ground if you're having a problem. Tempest Strike is a passive playstyle that punishes aggression. Stop being an ape.
Exotics
You have the only exotic that makes Blink worth considering. Hunters only use Stompees, Knucklehead, or RDM if playing seriously; not much different than Warlocks. Titans only use OEM or those SMG pants I forget the name of, since Dunemarchers and the Reflector Boots were nerfed; not much different than Warlocks
Before we start i have 6k hour on warlock between my accs so.
I can tell. The Crucible is painful for everyone. Advocating to take Hunters out back and shooting them twice in the head isn't going to remedy your problems.

I feel like they are leading the horse to water on the standing still bs. Everything revolves around slowness or standing still.

Nova warp is still pretty damn good. Child of the old gods can be stupid annoying.

I don’t care anymore - old
Warlocks need an all round massive buff -
Phoenix dive needs much faster recovery animation when landing too. The whole point is to get to the ground fast and then move, but the locked movement on landing gets you killed unless you were able to dive behind cover (which is a big if)

Agreed.

Bring warlocks back to d1 level. Hunters are way overpowered and titans we can manage those -blam!- hunters. Warlocks need a buff
