What can save D2?
Restoring Forsaken and all previously removed content. For better or worse, I believe that if we paid for it, we should have it available. I know some expansions were not the best, but I would still enjoy exploring Io, Titan, Mars, Mercury, and Tangle Shore occasionally.

sony has the power to set the game right. but as it's looking they are content on liquidating it. to shut down cross platform in destiny. making up the difference in the millions that played destiny with a percentage of them moving to Playstation and a possible new destiny game under the Sony name and a Playstation exclusive . might sound out there but company's will go great lengths to take the player base along with there wallet.

Sadly the chance has passed I think, the start of a new story would have been the ideal time to enter new systems, completely new enemies, innovative gear, even a complete new space magic system could have been brought in any number of fresh ideas. I recall one Bungie worker saying they don’t need ideas from us (because they are the experts)they just need us to tell them if it works or not, so l guess listening isn’t their strong point.

- Bring back old content content we paid for with updated loot and gear - Remove Portal and Tiers - Update older content (raids, dungeons) that’s currently in the game with updated loot. - Fix PvP matchmaking, team balancing, better gear, incentives to win and actually try. - Stop nerfing pinnacle ops, no way I should play 30 minutes and get the same gear as a 5 minute solo op 💀

It would be a good move, but it won't be enough to save D2. The biggest issue plaguing the game right now is Power Progression. All bringing Forsaken and year one destinations back will mean is more content for The Portal. That's it. We'll have more options to play, sure, but none of that matters. Players will still only play what gets them rewards faster. More activities won't solve the slog of Power Progression.

What can save D2? Another studio, perhaps. As we over these last years seen a continuous effort from Bungie to make things more difficult, with more tedious things, more mechanics, more time sinking things they force on players (potions and the like), more sponge bosses and less loot, I think it sits in the walls at Bungie. They are completely out of touch with the core player base. If Destiny is to be saved, I think the best chance (however slim), would be for a new studio to take over the work. I don't think Bungie has the understanding, power or time to take a new course for Destiny in the right direction. I hope I'm wrong, but I think we should have seen a course correction a couple of releases ago if they understood the core player base. Now with all the layoffs it won't be easier to correct, either.

Bottom line. Nobody is returning to the game (meaning it will never grow again) until they kill the gear reset. They also need to make old gear mich more viable in Portal activities, but the first one is the deal breaker for so many people that left and many that are still playing.

Returning content that left that game would be a good choice to build good will with players, but it's not going to save the game. It's all still old content that I probably won't play unless they put new gear in it. And making gear for ALL that old content would be a massive undertaking that probably couldn't be free with how many resources it would take up, so I doubt we'd be getting new gear. What we actually need to save the game is. Make portal menus feel more similar to the director. Make playlists the most efficient way to level so we aren't encouraged to play the same op 1000 times because it's fastest. Don't time gate 550 power. Speed up levels 200-500 greatly. Give us a consistent way to get primes for our last 50 levels. More differentiated loot tables between solo/fire team/pinnacle ops Attunement system to help us farm for a specific weapon without waiting on bonus rotation. Raid/dungeon content has tier 5 gear available immediately with some grinding. Armor ghost mods give a 50% chance at the archetype you want Also give us a ghost mod to focus the tertiary stat and tuning stat. Remove new gear bonus and avante garde outside of 1 or 2 playlists. Exotics roll with tier 5 stats.
