My son and I have been playing D2 for 7 years, we’ve never been good enough for GM content, but have run all of the dungeons multiple times as a 2 player team. I feel like we are relatively capable.
In the past we’ve run dungeons like Warlords/Vespers/Doctrine appreciated the challenge, but have been able to reliably complete them in reasonable time periods.
This weekend we tried our first run of Doctrine since EoF came out (we’ve both been using Finality Auger a lot this season and want to finish getting the catalyst), and gave up on second encounter (the clocks one) after 3 hours of repeated attempts.
I’m happy to accept that there’s a skill issue here, but it feels like something has significantly changed. We decided to give Prophecy a go, a dungeon we had previously gotten down to the 20 minute mark, and it took us nearly an hour to run.
This increased difficulty is disconcerting and unexpected. It’s put us completely off trying to run dungeons again (for fun, and for the exotics/catalysts). Has anyone else experienced this? Or are our builds wrong this season?

They are looking to address difficulty

Edited by WinterSolstice: 8/26/2025 7:39:04 AMSo the difficulty of dungeons hasn't changed much but it's our power instead. Ability cooldowns are SUPER slow compared to before and anything that's like under 50-60 is basically useless 90% of the time. Our heavy and specials are also doing WAY LESS. Some more than others like my legendary rocket can't even compare to my special sniper for example. For the most part though exotics seem unchanged. For enemy hp and damage it's mostly unchanged in old content. This means you'll be doing far less now than before not because enemies are more op but because we're far weaker. Edit: Btw more health might help. The heal from orbs mod got super nerfed and now the healing is from health instead.
