That was exactly what Arthyrs Embrace is supposed to do, you get consistent head shots to power up the knife allowing for the long range cleanup. It's not popular, and it's certainly not meta, because despite being strong it is highly situational. It's not prevalent in PvP because the knife has a long wind up and is not effective at close range in fast matches. But it does work well against players peak shotting scouts/pulses from the far side of a map...

Seriously amazes me the number of throwing knife complaints for weeks now. Ricochet knives are nothing new with Athrys and without that tracking on the second bounce would make bouncing the knives effectively useless, so the closest to a valid complaint on Athrys is the OHK to the body which requires multiple rapid crits to proc, usually enough crits that you either should've died or you would've been low enough for an unbuffed knife to kill you anyway. Back to the tracking, they already nerfed it in the past, it needs to bounce at the right angles to lock onto a nearby target whereas you could at one point throw it directly at your feet and it would bounce to the guy 5 meters to the right. They're not going to nerf the damage (especially when the melee stat would no doubt negate the nerf anyway) of Weighted Knife, because it's supposed to be more powerful than the other knives and that's not just because of the OHK to the head. They're not going to remove the tracking on the bounces with Athrys or there'd be no reason to even have the bounces to begin with since no one in their right mind would go for those corner shots otherwise without Hard Light. So the only other change they could feasibly do to Athrys is how quickly you build the buff or how long it lasts. As for the lightweight knives, like I've said in another post, I seriously can't recall a time I've ever seen people complain about these before EOF. And as much as I hate tempest strike users, don't complain about that unless you're also going to complain about warlocks spamming lightning surge or any of the classes spamming similar abilities. There's been no signs of that melee that leaves no time to react to the near if not OHK that is definitely a OHK if it gets multiple people getting a nerf, nor has there been even an announcement for a fix for when your melee misses ever, especially when the enemy is using abilities with CC like Shiver Strike or the Warlock void melee.

surely this is satire? Athrys is a gimmick exotic that has been in the same for 5ish years now and isn't a problem. You were less than half health in the clip and weighted knife deals 140 to body at base, so not sure what that complaint about damage is for.

They love Hunters and Titans, so nothing will happen.. Nerf Hunters smoke but here.. have these knives instead !
