You Killed Destiny 2
Bungie,
Whatever little respect the community still had for Destiny 2, you managed to destroy completely. The reputation of this game is in ruins because of your greed, your tone-deaf decisions, and your absolute failure to respect the players who carried this franchise for years.
Destiny 2 used to mean something. It used to bring people together, create memories, and feel alive. Now it’s nothing but a hollow shell, dragged down by recycled content, broken systems, lazy storytelling, and a complete disregard for the people who actually play it.
You’ve turned excitement into disappointment, loyalty into frustration, and hope into pure anger. Every so-called “update” feels like another nail in the coffin. Instead of rebuilding trust, you’ve buried it deeper.
The grind is unbearable, the narrative is a mess, and your promises mean absolutely nothing anymore. The community feels ignored, betrayed, and drained. You’re not delivering a game — you’re draining the life out of it, and out of us.
This isn’t just frustration. This is the sound of a community that’s fed up. You’ve burned through the last of your goodwill. If you care at all about Destiny’s legacy, stop treating it like a cash machine and start treating it like the universe we once loved.
Right now, all you’ve proven is that you’re capable of taking something great and running it straight into the ground.
The community deserves better. Way better.

Killing Destiny was their intent. No, not everyone, but definitely certain members of upper management and perhaps even senior developers. First, Bungie seems to have a dislike of sequels. There were people that didn't want to make a sequel to Halo, and it was the studios biggest success to that point. Consider the cost and the effort required to Desinty up and running. Them trying to find something that could replace the game... MATTER. GUMMY BEARS. MARATHON. Makes sense.

It's been on this path for a while now. How many people have made their concerns public only to be ignored or ostracized by the community? This is not an unexpected circumstance, it is however extremely disappointing. Destiny had amazing potential and only ever briefly touched what greatness it could be.

They did it intentionally . this game has never been this bad to play . stuck at 409 waiting until next week to get a few more from zavala. they just made the game no fun to play with all the modifiers ,to grindy and no drops, it makes you not care and play other games. I'm now playing battlefield mostly,cause this game is cooked.

And their silence.....says everything. Literally, nothing being said about the state of the game. Just double down on the meaningless grind. But Eververse has new items! Did ya see it when you logged in? Their tone deaf behavior is astounding.

You dont like the game anymore? Tragic, but how about buying the new Armor Set from Eververse? We recommend buying it not once, not twice, but THRICE for each of your Char to triple the drip! (:

Totally agree, everyone is now funnelled to the portal with a sole focus of grinding power. Pre EoF armor and weapons (both exotic and legendary) have been sidelined, vendors have been gutted, locations and public events are empty, the game is a hollow shell of what it used to be.

In many ways, I also see me there with what you described. And even if I bought "Year of Prophecy," I didn't engage with the narrative on Kepler, the portal, or power leveling. I only finished the reward pass. Predominant with bounties from planetary vendors. You don't need "Year of Prophecy" for that. And also no other DLC in the future. Bungie exaggerated it hard, and for that they pay the "price" now. Probably also with Marathon, with the reputation they have built.

Seeing the clan members playing less and less. Usually I would find everything from 10-15 online when I come home after work to play, and that was before this season started. Now there is like 5-6 online. It’s dying a slow death.

100% agree, Game has moved away from being for the non-streamer / YouTuber players, other players are leaving in droves, my Clan is down to just a few members that play at all namely for the reasons listed above. I stopped asking friends to get D2 because they all said what we're experiencing now, "I want to play the game, not spend so much time in menus so that I can play a game", You my friends have lost your way for the majority of the player base.

I sometimes wonder how the Community Mods are presenting this, IF at all, to their higher-ups. There is no way that the scummy suit sitting in his office browsing for the next car to buy with Eververse money is gonna hear this word for word or even care. The sad thing is that the death of the Game is probably not gonna cost the ones that deserve it their job, just some poor people doing the heavy lifting with no say.
