I love Destiny 2 and even though there have been missteps along the way the game has always been some level of good. But the design of the power grind is just horrible after 400. Having to run GM and be 50 below power to just get a tier 4 and maybe a powerful drop is the exact opposite fun.
This game is dying.
Focusing the entire power grind in the portal with just one activity from Keplar has to be one of your worst decisions ever. It's an expansion. Why am I not being rewarded for playing the new content, just terrible decision making.
The grind after 400 is awful
INCORRECT! But I will make a recommendation: The grind is AWFUL! It may be worse after 400, but it is bad right to 400 also. I am not doing the same boring, recycled mission a thousand times, all while they get harder and harder and harder as I level, for no real rewards. At 10 I got crappy tier 1 gear at 170 I am getting crappy tier 1 gear. I am not playing to 350 or whatever level I need to reach just for Tier 3, Tier 4 or Tier 5 gear Like my old gear was. Old gear that took me years to collect. I am not playing thing grind for 4 year just to get back to where I was right before EOF!

Edited by AppleSoda: 8/28/2025 4:33:19 PMThe trick is to stop caring once you hit 400. Play the activities you want, get the guaranteed primes from Zavala and events as they come, do your weekly Kepler missions, and occasionally get tier 5 loot while doing the things you enjoy. Getting to 500 will be a joke in less than two weeks and tier 5s will drop like candy. Simply do not engage in this time sink for this marginally better gear a few weeks early.

Your weekly gift from Zavala will get you a few points on a couple items. I also ran the new “loot cave” and got a couple 401 pieces but it took about 1/2 hour.
