The longer I play the more restricted and less fun I feel like I have in how I play.
For context, before Edge of Fate I would play all 3 characters semi consistently and bounce between multiple builds and loadouts depending on my mood and/or the activity.
Now? I have pretty much been restricted to 1 build, on 1 character, because it feels like I'm walking back 15 steps to get my other characters capable to even tolerate the current difficulty I am at.
To play 1 build on another character I have to drop down the difficulty and HOPE I get the gear I need to use/infuse to run stuff at my mains difficulty, and thats assuming I know exactly what 1 build I want to play with. To make other builds the cost of Unstable Cores and RNG nature of getting the gear I need is staggering.
This is all under the assumption the modifiers for the MATCHMADE playlist even work in my favor, but considering its a grab bag of all the different mods to pick, odds are NONE of them will synergize with what I'm trying to do, and because the loadouts are locked and at times its random which Champions you will face, whatever guns I want to run feel redundant because I HAVE to play around that. Its even worse with things like Match Game or the Grappler mod in place that make restrictions even worse.
I hope among the portal reward changes there's also consideration being put in to allowing us the freedom to play/build how we want again. I've never had such an unfun time trying to play different characters or use different guns and loadouts just to play the same at level content I've been playing already.

1 ReplyIt feels like the higher we get, the more punishment we have to endure. I wanted to do whisper to get the mint but I have to run it on gm difficulty, if I drop it down, the mint is no longer available. With limited revives running it solo with the timer and negative mods it's not something I am sure I can do, nor do i want to spend the time it takes and fail at the end. Im not the best player skill wise, i'm old with bad vision, arthritis in my hands and slower reflexes so the higher I get the worse the game is. No loner fun just a grind fest of old content. Everything at this point has to be gm level or i just get low level trash. I want tier 5 gear nd im willing to put in the time but does it all have to be so difficult. Do I always have to put on all the negative mods i can and always run 40 power below just to level up. Is this supposed to be fun or stress relieving.? The only thing worth doing is the portal but the portal is already old and boring. It needs 5 times whats in it to make it feel decent and even then having to add the mods which takes any fun away from the game makes me not want to play anymore. The game is no longer fun . Maybe let the other destinations and activities drop gear that's at our level or even higher so even if we dont use the gear we could use it to level up. We need some variety now not in a month or 2 even if you add a handful of stuff to the portal in 2 weeks it wont last. It will be old in couple weeks. And we will be sick of playing it. I don't see how the game will keep players with the current system. I have already noticed it takes a couple min to find people for any match made activities.
