I’ve never made a post on here in 10 years. I’ve been there through all the ups and downs but this is the first time I’m actually not wanting to play the game. I’ve cleared the raid flawlessly and with 5 feats (separately of course) and I don’t feel rewarded. I spent all my time mastering the raid and now I’m not high enough level to go do other end game content that I am capable of and want to challenge myself with. I don’t need to play 400 calderas and fireteam ops to prove that. I’m missing my game. Bungie fix it please.

Leveling this much is a scam. They are quietly putting down this game so they come up with this ridiculous leveling grind -blam!-. This is a small group working on D2 now. Just tell us it’s over already.
-
Nothing feels rewarding in the game anymore, you complete anything and you often don't even get something at your level, it feels more like the game is made to torture us, to make our lives hell. They have removed the main part of the game, THE FUN!! We could do different activites and bounties to mix up our game play, you could complete weekly nightfalls without too much hassle but now everything is so hard I have never died so much in the game. The was so much to do each week before EOF now there is only Ops. They need to lower the grind for power level and increase the tier drops because I know we would all be chasing the higher tier god rolls but by the time I get anything worthy we will be in Renegades and everything starts over again. Resetting the power level I think will hurt the game so bad, increase it instead, they can reset the tier levels, so we are chasing the new gear and their god rolls. So much of the game now feels locked behind harder content hurting the casual and lower skilled players.

Same…. I was so sick and tired of the grind, when I saw the reveals I could see what was coming and choose to give up there and then… I hope they fix it, balance grind around the casual who can play 10 hrs a week…. Most importantly they need to add new content that has replay value… even a gambit rework with new maps would be well received at this point!

Ya it's complete bullshit now
-
They've spit in everyones face at one point or another. NOW even their most loyal are realizing that this abusive cycle was never going to turn around. Without new leadership from someone who has true love and vision for the franchise with a reinvigorated "player first" approach" this game is cooked, but FOR EAL this time.

Edited by Mark, Scholar of Stars: 8/31/2025 2:19:18 PMAlmost everything that came with "Edge of Fate" isn't for me. I didn't expect that. I thought one way or the other I would have fun. But to summarize the new package, almost everything is restrictive. The Portal should be an interesting addition, but not mandatory. Mandatory. Same as DLC items like armor and weapons. Bungie shouldn't have forced that new direction. It should be coexisting with pre-"Edge of Fate" items and mechanics and bring its way autonomously into Destiny 2, but not by force. Here's a subreddit with almost 4,000 upvotes; you're not alone in this. Please just undo it all. Edit:...

"Bungie fix it" Yeah good luck with that 😆

You're lucky not to enjoy the game for the first time in the last 10 years. Your in extremely rare company.
-
Don't worry. They don't listen anyways. My entire account is bugged. I've told them about these issues over the years but they just keep letting them compound year after year then ignore you like they don't answer to anyone. Have a bug? Provide proof or they will never fix it. They are like vultures.
-
They only take feedback from top streamers. Just look at the Pve nerfs that have happened and most of the Pvp nerfs too. They don't about anyone but the streamers obviously cause of how this game has turned lately.
-
I think it genuinely boils down to Portal being half baked upon release. Almost all of the old systems have been replaced. Remember when they were wanting Pathfinders to be their new big thing at the launch of TFS? Can’t do that anymore aside from on The Pale Heart. And why would anyone do that now? Gambit and crucible are both worthless. The rewards are not worth the headache. Dungeons and Raids? You guessed it. Worthless. They’ve acknowledged this at least. There is a plethora of content they can’t utilize in Destiny’s arsenal and they fumbled the ball so hard it makes them look inept.

And don't let anyone fool you. 450 isn't worth it for pve players. Tried tolerating the crucible, but the requirements to wear new stuff affecting my ability to get decent loot killed my motivation to be on there.

What's worse...is when you grind to 400, and they STILL put you at -50 handicap. Like, that's just a LAZY design. All to artificially make things more difficult because their creativity went out the window. It's like the more you're grinding for higher power, the weaker your player gets. Just unbelievable.
-
I mean... Players like you are their target base. 🤔 They know that no matter how much grind they add you will still play it. Want real change to happen? Stop playing. If their numbers go even lower they might do something about it.
-
For me it's the power level that I hate. In Destiny 1 and early Destiny 2, your power level GENUINELY meant something. You had harder content, but you could over power yourself and play that difficult content with confidence. Now, there's no such thing as being powerful. The power delta crap means no matter your light level, no matter your gear, you are ALWAYS weaker! And that's s*it!
-
I am a new player, but I echo your sentiment. It was a lot of fun when I could play the story line content and continue increasing power, find new guns, etc. So I went ahead and bought the bundle that includes the next two releases. Big mistake! The idea that all of the older content I haven't even played yet is basically worthless to increase my power level or find anything good has got to be the biggest rip off and stupidest design choice I've ever seen in a game. There is always loot inflation in these types of games, so I'm not expecting to find stuff that fully measures up to newer content but at least give me something I can destroy to level up the guns I already have! I've been playing the older content anyway, because if I have to run another portal mission where everyone is just rushing through it to level I think I'll go crazy. They must have promoted somebody to manager in this company that is just totally incompetent.
-
I agree. I’ve actually stopped playing. For me, making the only way to get the best loot is by grinding low skill activities has killed the game for me. I don’t mind grinding, I don’t investing my time. I do mind that if I complete a raid or go flawless in trials, I’ll get lesser rewards that someone who has does the same but has also griddled 200 hours of solo ops. The hardest activities should reward the best loot regardless of play time.
-
I haven’t seen game this bad senice vinalla D2 launch and curse of orsiris
-
Most fun I've had since Solstice is running bounties on Europa. Suddenly I was a powerful Guardian again, using my favorite weapons and armor and slaying the evil enemies of mankind! Don't anyone tell Bungle that it was fun.
-
If you’ve completed a flawless DP raid and completed a 5-feat run then there is nothing in the game that will offer you any challenge this season other than low light, low man challenges. The most you have to grind to is 410 for the GM conquest and I’m going to assume you’re a player who plays fairly often so getting to 410 shouldn’t be difficult for you, after that you can put the game down and take a break for a couple of weeks. Forcing yourself to play when you’re not having fun is the quickest way to drive yourself away from the game.
-
Only 400!? Beter add some zero's.🤣

Welcome to the forum, beware.

I hear you, although I'm not playing as much as you do, by far. I'm just a casual player, playing an hour or two per week perhaps. More at holidays, less in busy weeks. Bungies last hope is players like you, Grinders (and I don't mean that in a disrespectful or negative way, quite the opposite). There probably are some new people playing EoF and Destiny for the first time in their life, but many Casuals that have been playing Destiny for a long time, I think have left or taking a break. Players who grinds for the grindings sake are the players Bungie have focused on these last years, and very much now with EoF. Why? They keep the metrics up. It does not matter really what content Bungie releases, if there is a way to grind, the Grinders will grind - anything. The other players are more difficult, if the content is good they may play Destiny for a bit longer per season, if it is bad they leave for another game. But those who like the grinding will play the whole season and put in a lot of hours, hence quite good metrics anyway. Seeing that a broader spectrum of players, casuals as well as grinders, don't like EoF, I think Bungie understands they are at a real low, but they can't publically say so, of course. Personally I think Renegades will be the end of Destiny as we know it. Perhaps Sony brings in another studio for a remake sometime after Renegades, or sell it away to another studio willing to take the helm. For Bungie, Marathon is what matters, and everything Bungie has is probably put into trying to make Marathon work. The Destiny team probably just have a skeleton crew. If Marathon also fails, it does not look good for Bungie. Time will tell.
