Matterspark is asinine!!!
I’m so sick and tired of dying at the final boss because this dumbash ill conceived prank on the player base that adds absolutely NOTHING to the game only jumps when it feels like it.

Hello ALL, Found this YouTube video that solved everything! You go into your controller settings and find the “Boost” settings in your sparrow tab. Bind that button to whatever your “Jump” button is and wallah, your little Spark Ball is suddenly as nimble as a Belgian Malinois able to leap anywhere and anything you want it to. Hope my pain and exploration helps anyone else struggling with that stupid little ball.
