Wolfsbane “Burning Ambition” — Heavy attack does not apply or increment Scorch outside Overclock

Platform/Build: PC (Steam). Weapon/Perk: Wolfsbane (Exotic axe) + Burning Ambition Refit catalyst. Expected: Burning Ambition adds Scorch from sustained damage; hits to an already-Scorched target continue to build Scorch. Heavy attacks should follow the same Scorch rules as light attacks. Actual: Outside Overclock mode, heavy attacks never apply Scorch and do not increase existing Scorch stacks. In Overclock, heavy attacks do cause/advance Scorch as expected. Repro Steps: Equip Wolfsbane with Burning Ambition Refit (no Overclock active). Hit a single target with repeated heavy attacks → observe no Scorch applied. Apply initial Scorch via light attacks (you’ll see ticks once Scorch is present), then switch to heavy → Scorch still does not advance. Activate Overclock and repeat Step 2 → heavy attacks now apply/advance Scorch. Reproduced on red bars, majors, and bosses; reproduced in shooting range. Notes/Controls: • Different armor mods/aspects disabled to rule out interactions. • Behavior persists across instances and relaunches. • Burning Ambition on other weapons is known to add Scorch after “direct hits”/sustained damage; here heavy may not be flagged as eligible when not Overclocked. Impact: Lowers Burning Ambition’s utility vs champions/bosses when using intended heavy-attack windows; Overclock-only consistency suggests a flagging/state bug.

  • Hello there, Thank you for your detailed report. We understand you're experiencing a seeming issue with the heavy attack of Wolfsbane with the Burning Ambition catalyst. We're sorry to hear of this, as we can imagine the impact this may have had. If you're still experiencing this, then please consider recording a short video of this behavior as it occurs outside the Shooting Range. If you record a video, you can upload it to a site like Youtube, and share the link here. We'll then investigate.
