I really don’t want to write out a word document on why it could be beneficial, but it’ll be cool to help other guardians with whatever activity they’re doing and you could get paid in currencies or rewards based on the time spent with the guardian (accounting actual progress into said activity) and/or beating said content.
You can see what that guardian is doing and decide if you want to join from a list on the screen, maybe even have a help-randomizer as a separate option if you’re feeling froggy

I use it daily. There are plenty of players who help others in this game who don't care for any reward. I have 2000+ raid sherpas, my time volunteered for no reason other than helping the community. I do nothing else in D2. Know what I get in return? Hate, toxicity, bigotry. I get called the F word weekly. Then there's players who post they want help and then have vc and text chat turned off. Game doesn't need a feature to shoehorn in people chasing rewards. Game needs a community that's respectful and tolerant. Everyone can do their part for that without bungie putting in a loot system.
