The New “Orders” System Feels Unnecessary and Out of Touch

I really don’t understand why Bungie decided to replace the bounty system with this new Orders system. Nobody in the community was asking for this, and there wasn’t really anything wrong with the old setup. Bounties were simple, consistent, and worked well for players who wanted something straightforward to work toward. This new system feels like another unrequested overhaul, similar to the Portal system. It seems more like a distraction than an improvement. It’s hard not to feel like time and resources are being poured into features that don’t actually solve the problems players have been voicing for years. What players have been asking for are new and engaging activities that bring people back, fresh content and meaningful rewards, and real bug fixes and quality of life improvements that address long standing frustrations. Instead, we’re seeing energy spent on reinventing systems that weren’t broken. It gives the impression that Bungie is focused on internal redesigns rather than addressing the actual content drought or overall player experience. I’m sure the developers worked hard on the Orders system, but it just doesn’t feel like something the community needed or wanted. What players truly want are reasons to log in, things that make Destiny 2 exciting again. Systems like this don’t do that. They just reshuffle what we already have under a new name. Please, Bungie, take a step back and listen to the feedback. We want new adventures, not new menus. We want stability and fun, not another layer of complexity on systems that already worked.

  • I don't understand what was wrong with bounties. The bounty board still exists in D1 and works just fine. Pathways were interesting and rewarding. Bungie literally has TWO proven methods for player engagement and is STILL fixing things that aren't broken while ignoring things that are. Dear Bungo, the problem is that too few parts of your game are relevant. You need to refocus on CORE PLAYLISTS . You need to give us a reason to go back to the locations you already built. You need to give us BACK the locations we ALREADY PAID FOR. Bring back Flashpoints. Refresh the loot in raids and dungeons. Give strike specific loot. Make rewards from ALL activities drop at current light level. Open up the ocean of content that is D2 instead of keeping us in the kiddie pool of seasonal portal content and wondering why players are bored.
