This is a funny perspective to have — and you’re totally right. The following isn’t meant to bash you as a player, but you couldn’t have told me any clearer that you’re probably between Silver and Platinum rank. Because if you had experienced Bungie’s implementation of SBMM at the higher skill end, you’d be begging for the complete opposite — especially with the nice, fast-capping zone mode we have now. A few seasons ago, I went for the 15k emblem, and I’m not lying — I almost risked getting banned for leaving games if it was Clash. I’d have matches that lasted 19 minutes just to end up with 9 of the 35 kills. Because there’s no objective, good players would literally get map control, go invis, and not move. Meanwhile, you’d try to engage in a gunfight and always run into three players sitting invis, watching one lane — usually the highest-traffic or best route for map control at that time. One guy gets picked off, and you have to regroup and do it all over again. So honestly, be glad there’s an objective in that playlist. Not saying I don’t resonate with your frustration — I definitely do.
