LOSING ALL REVIVES WHEN TIMER EXPIRES NEEDS TO GO

Pinnacle ops is just ridiculous at ultimate difficulty. The vast majority of pinnacle activities are impossible to do solo at ultimate difficulty, whereas most of them (exotic missions) were 100% doable solo pre-EoF on their hardest difficulty. And of course, in order to get any meaningful rewards or pass certain score thresholds, we now have to play EVER SINGLE activity on ultimate now. These missions were not designed with revive tokens in mind, let alone losing them after some arbitrary and ridiculously short timer expires. I just tried doing encore on ultimate, a mission I did repeatedly on max difficulty back when it was new, both times I made it as far as the jungle area after the subjugator AND tormentor fight. Let that last part sink in. You have to fight a tormentor AND subjugator separately then together, stuff like that takes time! I was then promptly nuked by the big cabal guy with the mini gun in the second jungle area both times, which would all be fine, except now we lose revives after a timer expires that's frankly WAYYYYYYYY too short for most of these pinnacle activities, especially this one. I've said this many times here but it can't be said enough, no other game in the history of looter shooters has a game actually punished its players for reaching "max level." And this post doesn't even go into the forced deltas! If you're going to insist on keeping revive tokens in every single portal activity (which is 90% of the relevant content of this game) then just stop taking them away when the BS timer expires. Keep the timer if you really need to, just make it add bonus score like in lesser difficulties instead, I think this is a happy compromise. With the state the portal is in now, it's extremely frustrating to get anything done. Every guardian and and their dogs have been asking for this to be changed, please make this happen soon, yesterday preferably. Edit: I finally beat encore, but obviously ran out of revives just before the boss, and that was while speed running like crazy. Yet even though I beat it, I ended up with only a C score, which means I didn't get what I was grinding for. Wtf!? So now we don't even get anywhere near the forecasted score if we don't finish on time!? I had a B+ forecast, I only died a handful of times (tormentor/sub fight of course) why did my score take such a huge hit, Bungie!? You seriously SERIOUSLY need to rework the scoring system and revives yesterday. The recent changes are a step in the right direction, I honestly believe revives and scoring are the biggest problem with the game, easily the most frustrating and talked about problems. Get on it... Please.

  • This is definitely an issue Bungie needs to start addressing. It’s true that as my power went up I felt weaker. Yes I understand that end game content should be hard but it should not feel impossible. This will ultimately burn out so many people. Even myself. I’m a hardcore player but I can’t deal with end game now since the portal went live. I would love to grind out like I use to but I burn out way too quickly.

  • I agree 100%. The mission it self gives a time frame of 15-30 mins and the removes revives after 16:00. Plus failing this mission after sinking in 20 mins just for absolutely nothing feels horrible. This derealize mission is really demoralizing me on this game. If I can’t even make it to rank 8 when I’ve been rank 10 in previous seasons why even bother?

  • Just get rid of the timer. Limited revives makes sense and makes decisions weighty. The timer is just weak game development

  • Bungie is rather clueless and really dont understand how much of a failure the portal is. If the time runs out and you have say 13 lives left just before it runs out, then you should be able to use those lives instead of watching them all disappear after the time goes to zero

    I agree, we shouldn't lose all revives when the timer runs out. Not earning anymore, cool. Losing what we have, not cool. With that said: people just need to lower the difficulty. Just cause you have ultimate unlocked doesn't mean that's the only level you have to play. The way the system is set up, if you are worried about getting tier 5s, don't. You can get t5s on 300 and 400 depending on the mods you choose lol. I'd recommend doing 400 cause it takes less mods than 300.

    • The argument against this is that we have so many revives because we are supposed to play more aggressively. Not worry about dying as much. Push harder and die more frequently

    • Be careful, you'll have the BDL chomping on the bit. They've already been screaming blue murder cos someone said they wanted timers removed. I haven't spent any money since Final Shape ended, because any Destiny veteran could see where this was going. But why did they make us grind from 10 to 550 only to become weaker? This season, they didn't increase the light level, but made everything more difficult. What in the name of Hells Teeth are they thinking about? What makes them think that grinding up power levels to make us weaker is a game that will bring in new players and keep them hooked? I honestly do not know what their agenda is, but it's NOT trying to save this game.

    • There is the theory that Bungie execs intentionally want Destiny 2 to die so that the remaining players either leave or move over to Marathon when it comes out. But imma be honest. Bungie, if you read this I'll have you know that I wouldn't touch Marathon with its GARBAGE ART STYLE even if you would be threatening me with a -blam!- Nuke right before my face. It's just THAT BAD.

    • Timers and limited revives are the worst things about playing destiny. These two things kick you out of content. There should be nothing that kicks you out of content. IMO: PVE, Raids, Dungeons, Strikes, Exotic Quests should not have these elements unless as an option which would give you some kind of title, shader or ornament.The only time it should be allowed are in contests or perhaps certain PVP events.

      • It affects everything, I've never failed to finish things ever but this season I've failed every ketchcrash I've attempted because people play like there's no revive count, & I've failed a good few of the season activity because you can't increase revives & some days it's very overwhelming & those few revives soon disappear & there's so much going on. Did 1 on Venus earlier & there were like 5-6 huge wyverns & a boss & like 70 smaller adds, in a little tiny room with no cover, with 2 550 conquerors, boom wiped. You should never feel like you've completely wasted your time, even in things like dark souls you learn patterns etc so gain knowledge. This destiny stuff is rng on top of rng on top of rng & is extremely punishing.

        Making matters worse, the master Derealize is harder than both grandmaster conquests, primarily because of you lose your revives if the time limit expires, we have bullet sponge tormentors as bosses, and ridiculous jumping puzzles; all with a 20 minute timer. Even Goggle AI verifies this.         bungie are being A holes on conquest derailize . not being reasonable ,heck a team could bank 15 lives but by the time you traverse after warping puzzle the timer removes all lives and its a wipe. this company seriously needs some help if thats the best they can come up with. bring back the strikes this other junk isnt even as hard its just lame timers thats it.

      • Just got to 550 and now everything is limited revives with 1 life and no ammo. Yeah I'm back on break for a while until this game is not this

        Everything was fine until they changed to default deltas and I'm convinced they also changed something els in that process - either intentionally or by mistake. I say that because with modifiers I would always be at the same or higher deltas prior to the change too but the game played way differently. We didnt take as much damage and seemingly had better output. Now we have to tread so carefully that it's just becomes slow and boring - and in many cases there's not enough time to complete it before the timer runs out. Would have been interesting to know the pinnacle activity because I feel like a lot of people are in the same boat as me - not touching it at all. It's a shame because it used to be a fun thing to do solo.

      • Especially the ridiculously hard nightfall-like activities. No reason my revives should be taken away. Feels too time gated as if it’s only for the experts or cheaters.
