PS Remote Issues

I play on PS5. Over the past two months the game has become unplayable more than half the time I try to play. The character does its own thing (reacting as if I've pressed jump for example when I haven’t) and doesnt follow commands from the remote, appears to over follow them and will spin in circles for a good while shooting at the sky/floor/whatever when I'm not even holding the remote, or doesn't react when I do press a button or might react with a delay - its anyone's guess as to what it'll do 🤷‍♀️ Since these issues started I've switched from one PS5 to another PS5 console which was brand new, including the remote. We have pretty good Internet. The issues continued on the new console and new remote. I don't have these issues on any other game. This also isn't consistent to every time I play. Sometimes it will play smoothly, as it should. What's going on with the game, Bungie?

 • A note before I get started: while certain suggestions below may seem unnecessary at first glance given that you say you only experience these issues while playing Destiny, I would encourage you to follow through with them so as to control for unknown variables in trying to fix the issue. Open your PS5’s System Settings menu and select: • Accessories • General • Advanced Settings • Turn off Bluetooth Next hook your controller up to the console using a USB C cable and play Destiny for a few sessions that match your general schedule and session length when playing normally. If the issues persist while playing in this fashion you may need to delete and download Destiny again as there may be an issue with corrupted game files. You said the issues continued after switching to a new PS5, but didn’t specify whether you used PSN Cloud features or an external hard drive to transfer game files from your previous console or instead downloaded everything from scratch; transferred game files from the prior PS5 would logically continue to exhibit any issues due to corrupted data that was present. If, on the other hand) you do not notice these issues while using a physical connection between the controller and console this suggests a fairly substantial degree of Bluetooth interference may be to blame. Using the above menu tree once more, turn Bluetooth on again then back up on step and select Bluetooth Accessories to view the list of items that are currently paired with the console as well as any unpaired Bluetooth compatible devices that the system currently detects. First review the list of Paired Accessories. If you find this list contains more controllers or other devices than you normally use, select each item and choose the Forget option. With the list fully cleared, pair your controller and any other device you normally use to your system again. Next look below toward Accessories Found which displays a list of Bluetooth signals currently detected by the console. If the list seems to have an excessive number of entries (there is no hard and fast rule here so you may need to follow your gut), the sheer number of Bluetooth devices may be causing interference. Have a (level headed, non-confrontational) discussion with anybody you may live with to determine if there may be devices with Bluetooth functionality that aren’t actually connected to anything else or that nobody actively uses: if any such devices are found, try turning off their Bluetooth connectivity to reduce interference. It may be the case that based on the number of Bluetooth devices on hand, how and when they are used as well as by whom in your household that this is not a viable solution; if you previously had success using a physical connection to your console with USB C you may have to get used to playing this way (preferably with a long cable that can be neatly tucked away to avoid tripping hazards).
