I un-quit for Renegades, and... I actually don't regret it

Like many players, I quit back when Bungie first announced all the awful changes they were going to be making in Edge of Fate, because I knew I wasn't going to be able to enjoy the game once they were implemented, and I thought my Destiny days might actually be over (I'm not the type of player to "quit" regularly, this was the first and only time for me). When the expansion launched, and all the news and reviews came out, my fears were sadly proven right, and I resigned myself to never play again. Fast forward 6 months, and I'd been following the news on the game, watching as Bungie slowly began to fix/walk back some of the major mistakes they made, and by the time Renegades was coming around, the game was actually starting to look playable again. I was getting tempted. When I started hearing all the positive reviews and feedback about Renegades, I decided to give the game one more chance, since the Year of Prophecy was on sale, and I've actually been really enjoying it. While Bungie definitely still has a lot of work to do, so many of the issues that they created have been fixed, and the experience has actually been surprisingly enjoyable for me. I've actually found myself excited to play again, and looking forward to booting it up each day. The campaign was pretty great, the seasonal activity is really cool and fun, and the lightsabre is quite possibly the coolest and best designed exotic Bungie has ever made. Not just in terms of how it feels to use, but especially with just how incredibly customizable it is, when it comes to both appearance and playstyle options. I also love the scavenger hunt-style pursuit for unlocking all the different components to it, it's such a novel exotic experience. I also really enjoyed the Edge of Fate's campaign too, other than the puzzles being a bit excessive at times. It was a really interesting story, and it introduced us to a new character that I really love, and who's surprisingly already become one of my favourites. If there are any of you out there who are on the fence about coming back, like I was, I'd actually highly recommend it right now, while the expansions are on sale. They're definitely not worth full price, but I bought the Year of Prophecy for 40% off, back in early December, and haven't regretted a single penny spent on it. That same sale is back on until early January (I think the 5th), so if you're someone who's debating coming back to Destiny, in my humble opinion now is a pretty good time to do it.

      Alright, alright, alright. - old

I took a long break after TFS. Came back for Renegades and I’m enjoying it. Probably not going to bother with anything else (apart from a bit of Gambit). I play more casually than I used to and that seems to be a good way to keep it fun and avoid burnout.

      • Well said 👏 , I took over a year away from d2 but renegades and the changes brought me back , yes the game still has some issues but its by far in a better shape than it was when I quit.

Yeah that's the only reason they gave the expansion a discount because not enough people actually are coming back bungie probably thanks if we discount everything we might get more people in the door. Example when a busines failed they discount everything in their store to bring business because they don't know what else to do. As can see my characters I like the expansion I did to dungeon all tier 5 dungeon gear even the dungeon equilibrium ghost , but this community needs to stop being in so much denial and face the music bungee needs to change management they need to change their approach with the content or they might as well just close the doors. We used to have over a million active players we barely have 30000 on a weekly basis.. Even bungie said renegade was a failure because renegade was supposed to bring back players not bring less players! even developers and the director said before renegades came out we want destiny to be a live game not a dead game. • Great price at 40% off. I got year of prophecy way back when while I had some extra cash, and I’ve definitely gotten my money’s worth. EoF was ok (campaign was great), and I’m thoroughly enjoying Renegades. Campaign, weapons, Lawless Frontiers, exotic mission, and the dungeon (although I haven’t completed that.) 40% off is definitely worth it.
