First, let me clarify: The crafting table may, as some have pointed out, reduce players' incentive to chase rewards, but it still serves a necessary purpose. I believe the crafting table should function as a bad luck protection mechanism and a source for obtaining past gear. Therefore, my proposal is as follows:
- Weapons automatically become available at the crafting table after a certain period, but only Tier-2 weapons can be crafted (featuring a single row of enhanced perks, consistent with existing craftable weapons).
- Armor automatically becomes available at the crafting table after a certain period, but only Tier-4 armor can be crafted, with fixed stat distributions and total stat values.
Past gear should continue to regularly provide players with Tier-5 acquisition methods. Adding them to the crafting table does not mean removing their original acquisition sources.
Raid gear will also become available at the crafting table after a certain period (e.g., two seasons), but unlocking it still requires obtaining red-border weapons from the raid.

The stupidiest thing about the Tier weapons is that the Old stuff already have the system built in place into Crafted and Enhanced weapons. The simple change they need to do for them is that once Crafted to 1 or Enhanced tier 1. It gives the new Tier Dot and blue square on the weapons. AND MOST IMPORTANT thing is just to remember that since that weapon you have only had 1 trait in collum 3 and 4 it will stay that way even at tier 5. Same as the sorry but Shitty Holofoils rewards from the ranks rewards in special events cuz yes they drop with shitty traits lol. So Tier 2 on enhanced weapons ask for the weapons to be levell 11 so either grind kill or level the weapons with glimmer and enhancement core with the increase weapon level slot on it to level 11 and now go on the enhancement slot and apply the Cost of Glimmer, Prism and Alloy required. Voilà you have now a old weapon/new tier 2 (2 Dot) with new tier systems benefits. Tier 3 is level 17 so either grind kills or increase to 17 for tier 3. Tier 4 just need to be a new number so lets say level 35. Since 20 give a baby boost in some stats and 30 a options to put Memento. So 35 I think is ok for tier 4. Add the cost in the Enhancement slot in Glimmer Prism and more alloy And tier 5 you need to have the weapons at level 50. Plus cost in Ehancement slot with Glimmer prism and More more alloy. And you get the benefit of each tier of the new tier systems of course. Like Tier 4 gives enhance barrels, magazine and mods. 5 is all of that plus enhance origin trait. I perso don't give a bleep about the kill special effect it is always off but hey if the slot magically appear on the weapon for players. It's ok! But yeah in the end. The system is already there. I just don't understand why they are sleeping on it. Remember how it we use to say Destiny Becomes legends. Well -blam!- no way i'm becoming legends when I'm forced to play how they want me. To ge a legend you need to be yourself and play like you want!

outside raids and dungeon yeah, and they should buff tier 5 armor and add a tier 6 for exotics both armor and guns

The crafting table was a stop gap measure that did not really work. If Bungie reduced RNG by simply cleaning up the overly massive pool of weapons, weapon types, perks and mods. Instead of having more than 100 variants of a given wepaon and only one best roll, you could eliminate bad luck protection, and reduce RNG if there were only 20 possible variants. Crafting does solve an issue! It does not "fix" something broken. Crafting is it's own problem in the long run. Crafting is bad for a looter shooter. Make every weapon worthwhile and still have a best roll. Eliminate 95% of junk that drops.

4 RepliesNo. Crafting as initiallly implemented was a terrible idea. The entire loot-economy needs to be resigned if Crafting is going to be in the game.

Edited by ApeX: 12/31/2025 7:30:29 AMHonestly, I think the system in place is pretty good right now. Me and a buddy of mine a while back had the idea of adding a gunsmithing bench to the game. The idea of this gunsmithing bench would be to take an existing gun and reforge some of the parts on it. More specifically the barrel mag and masterwork. You wouldn't be able to outright craft the gun itself and make copies of it, but it would allow you to swap out the parts you actually want. The only parts you wouldn't be able to change are it's two perk columns. That way the grind is still somewhat balanced and requires you to chase the role you want. Honestly, it would be pretty cool if they did this with banshee so he's not just a trash vendor.

4 RepliesBungo had said lower tier weapons would be upgradable to tier 5 in Renegades. Obviously that did not happen and nothing else has been said.

Bump 🫡🍻 This post signifies the purpose of crafting to a tee. Dawning has dropped a ton of new weapons, renegades and the dungeon also provides many weapons, and the armor sets, for each character, also trials weapons and armor sets for each character. The bloat is real, crafting is the solution. Again we have a collections tab for weapons, why can we not just pull the weapons, with the rolls we earned. Armor needs a specific set that allows the option to select and input the set bonus we've aquired for hunter, titan, warlock. During Halloween we all received a mask and it had the ability to allow players to select whatever set bonus we had earned to be put on that mask. We need an armor set that can do the same, at which point all guardians would need is a single set of armor for each of, bulwark, grenadier, brawler, paragon, specialist, gunner. This way we can then go and farm for these sets dismantle them, have our main armor set, and can apply the set bonus we've aquired to these sets to save on space. Now we all know many of these sets are pointless, but, sets like Bushido and smoke jumper are no longer easily aquired, and sought after for their amazing set bonuses. For your consideration bungie 🍻🫡

The game as a looter shooter is incredibly shallow at this point. Might as well unlock t5 crafting from patterns again.

2 RepliesThe current tier system is way worse for reducing the chase than crafting ever was. T5s drop like candy and it's easy to get multiple godrolls on them. Also, abilities are king at the moment.
